My Apple Watch Strava activities have stopped syncing - when I try to sync I get the same error each time: ‘to sync your activity, make sure your Apple Watch is connected to the network’.

I’ve checked and the watch says connected to Bluetooth and WiFi. I’ve logged out of the mobile app. I’ve closed both apps (phone and watch) several times. Nothing seems to fix it. Please can someone help?

Hi @Elliekimber,

it seems you've tried all the usual steps - just one more idea: are both the AW and the iPhone connected to the same wifi? Sometimes my phone connects to a different saved wifi without me noticing - so it might be worth checking...

Thank you for your reply, yes both connected to the same WiFi. Nothing seems to work!

Hi @Elliekimber, @Jana_S Were you able to resolve this. Facing the same problem from the last few workouts and nothing seems to fix this. Thanks in advance!

I have the same issue, here. Even reinstalling the apps doesn’t work.

Hi both, so I tried deleting the phone app - but then I couldn’t log back in and it took helpdesk 1 week to figure out why. In the end they told me to delete the watch app, which has lost all the unsynced workouts, which is really frustrating. I haven’t yet had a chance to record an activity on the newly installed watch app to see if they now sync. I’ll let you know when I do! I am at the end of my tether with this!

Yes thank you,  I remove Strava app from my watch and then it synch back again. I lost one month of running data, so frustrating! I’m thinking to move to another app now…

if really, there is no solution for that synch problem, people will definitely find alternative.

I just did an activity on my watch after deleting and reinstalling it and it seems to work now. Frustrating to lose the 10 activities but at least it is working again now.

This is a P1 bug at Strava. There is no way to force a sync and no way to export data from the Apple Watch to other services when Strava fails (as it seems to more often). This issues has been going on periodically for years. Now that Strava is the de facto platform that most fitness apps sync to, the company needs to get their Sh*t and take this issue seriously. I just spent a week in the Sierras with family on a variety of fun activities. I told everyone I would be able to share the activities, routes, etc. and the only response from Strava is “sorry, you are SOL”. The bigger the company has become, the more arrogant their approach to customer satisfaction and customer success. I am pissed beyond belief.

Suffering from the same issue as everyone on this thread - have disconnected and re-connected from WiFi & Bluetooth without syncing success.

Has anyone figured out how to sync activities without deleting and reinstalling the app?

The only advice I can offer so far is to ditch the Strava Apple Watch app completely. Use All Trails or alternatives, any of the SUP apps, any of the skiing apps, etc. that will push data directly to Strava without the use of their crap Watch app. Given that they have never fixed a P1 bug, I am going to ask for a 1 year credit of the premium subscription...because the Strava Apple Watch App is about as real and reliable as Tesla full autonomous driving (that has been claimed for 5+ years). Other products that are as good as the Strava Apple Watch app….let’s see the Tesla Cybertruck, The new Sonos app that crashed everyone’s systems, etc.
