Duplicated activities when I start Strava from phone

Latest version of Strava on a Samsung Ultra watch and S24 phone.

I want to use Samsung’s run tracker on my watch when running, as it gives me more data at the end of the run and audio updates of speed, heart rate, etc, each kilometre (would be nice if Strava did the same!)

As I also want to record the activity on Strava, I have been kicking that off on my phone by hitting ‘Record’ at the start of a run.

Whenever I do this, though, when I finish the run, the activity always appears twice in my feed (showing me as having run with myself!). My Samsung and Strava accounts aren’t connected.

Any idea how I can stop this happening?

Samsung seems to be connected to Strava in some ways, maybe via the IOS Health app. You could try not to record with the Strava app.

Not helpful. Samsung is not connected to Strava in any way. I want to continue using Strava.
