Hi,
I hope I've put this in the right place.
I've been using Strava for several years, but earlier this year got the Pixel Watch to make my tracking more accurate, to give heart rate etc. I use the Strava App on the watch and use it for both running and cycling.
Usually, it works well, but on fairly regular occaisions (maybe once a week), I notice that after the activity has uploaded to Strava, the last half mile or so is cut off. The run is still tracking when I get home, so its not a case of me accidentally hitting 'end' or anything like that.
Geographically, it always seems to cut off in the same sort of area - so I'm wondering if there's something interfering with the signal - but that doesn't really make sense to me as it doesn't happen every time, and normally the tracker wouldn't cut off the activity, it would just keep going until it found a new signal.
I don't know if this is a Strava issue, or a Google Pixel issue, but it's becoming frustrating and I wondered if anyone else had a similar problem.
Thanks
I got the same reply from Sigma. Word by word. Really the desire is to change a different brand of GPS
I'm not convinved this is the same thing I'm experiencing on my pixel watch - I don't manually pause my runs (or if I do, its extremely rare).
You’re right! I don’t pause manually my activities. Well, I should be honest, the fault is not only Sigma. I have a Amazfit smartwatch and I have a issue with it too. The maps don’t appear any more on Strava. I think Strava have been change a lot of things in your app that leads to so many problems. They still want we pay by the app.
I always have been using autopause and tried as test to Upload the fit file, but nothing changed. Still the same cut off.
Same issue here - I loose the last km on Strava, but Sugma Data centre shows all
Almost 2 months and @stravamh don’t have interesting on solve the problem. Yesterday I lose 20km from 95 I ride. Sad
Hi, same issue on ROX 11.0. The ".fit" file seems had minor corruption.

I export my activity to .TCX file and i upload it manually on STRAVA. It works well.
The differences between my .FIT and .TCX files seems to be the end time.

Great man! I didn’t have tried tcx, only fit. Now the full activity is uploaded. Thanks. By any way it is a shame that Strava don’t have interesting to solve this.
On my last 114km ride only 0.4km was uploaded. Fit file also not right. Seems the tcx file works
Yes, my friend! I knew that yesterday and reload my activities in Strava. That works! Thanks
How to export tcx on mobile phone
You may to load the activity on Sigma data center installed in your PC or Notebook. Go to the activity and in menu, go to data export. Chose the file type .tcx to save this.
then, open Strava in your browser(not by app mobile). There are on mean menu, near your profile photo, the option “load activity” or something like this. (Sorry, I’m Brazilian and my browse is not in english). Finally you just have to upload the file you exported from sigma data center
I didn’t find this option on mobile. Only in PC or notebook I can this
Yes I know that but in this moment i have only my phone
The issue is on STRAVA side with .fit file. I upload the same file (.fit) on GARMIN CONNECT and my activity is full.
On STRAVA, all break times are deducted, if your session activity lasts 3 hours, with a few break times totaling 30mn, STRAVA keep the 2.5 hours of your ride.
Yes, but there is a workaround for this. It’s just save the files in tcx format
I have the same problem - since november rides uploded from Sigma to Strava are shortened. I have two new devices - Sigma Rox 11.0 and 11.1 and the priblem is with both. All the month I have wrote to Sigma and Strava several times and both does not takes responsibility of this problem. It looks like football from each side. No one can help. Only foolish unuseful advices. It is realy annoyng.
I agree that mainly the problem is on Strava side, because it starts after last improvements in november, BUT this problem is only with Sigma devices - rox 9, rox 10, rox 11.0, rox 11.1. Garmin is not have this. I asked 3 different collegues with different Garmin devices and no one have problems like this. More than I had Garmin Edge 500 before and I never had problems with syncing training data. Therefore something is also on Sigma side.
My decision at this moment - i will send both devices back to shop and choose some other brand.
This is ok but it is not good.... Sigma disapounted me they dont care about us at all
Have the same issue with sigma rox11.1evo ! This happens when manually pause the activity . From 53km it shows 49 . At sigma center all fine but when i upload at strava it cuts me 4-5 kms . I reset my device and i will not use manual pause. Lets see what happens on next 😄
ALso i erase by mistake the activity, but thx Strava support it recovers it !
Same problem with Pixel Watch. Ran ~3 miles tonight and only recorded ~2.5 miles. It just cut off the end.
Strava cuts time and distance as much as the time spent in breaks (pauses). More pause useing, more cutting time and respectively distance. Unfortunately. No pause, no cuts. There is no difference you used manual pause or automatic. Both pausing promote cuting. Sigma advice to tur on/of automatic, but this workaround doesn't work. Sigma also advice not to use pause option.... 😆
♂. Very useful! It looks - If you have flat tyre or pee pause, you should end activity and then start new... 😂.
I think it doesn't matter to restart device. This problem is wide spread. I would like to say that every Sigma device has this problem with Strava syncing.
MY PROPOSAL FOR EVERYONE HERE - let's write to Sigma and Strava as much as it is possible with complains, questions about workarounds, problem solving etc. everything to let them work and take responsibility. Answer on questions/mails also is work and it would be inconvenience for them both. They must answer on clients questions. Thats will encourage them to do something. Altogether we will make a big work!
I believe it is a Strava error as some other devices have the same problem. Garmin works fine with Stravam but I am not buying a Garmin - on the Munga many Garmins gave navigation problems but Sigma worked fine.
The work araond is to download your ride from Sigma Data Cebtre to a TCX file and uplaod that into Strava. Then the breaks are not affected.
I have a paid Strava subscription but will not pay again
Well, I already wrote to Sigma and they throw back the issue to strava. Sad... and ever I can, write here in this hub. I think there are someone from Strava reading us
