Note error in title: not visible on Strava App on device nor in my activities. The file has not successfully loaded into Garmin via my 1050 edge. I think somehow it may have synched via the web and bypassed the garmin upload to garmin connect (and then to Strava). 1040 works flawlessly; 1050 - not so much.  Tried to add it via the .fit file and had little success.

what am I doing wrong ? is the .fit file corrupted on my garmin ?  how to I repair that ( reset device ?) it’s brand new but ok.  feedback appreciated.

That’s a bit confusing, could you clarify where you see the activity and where not?

I could not edit the title after the post.  I can ONLY see my ride on the Strava Website, but it’s not visible anywhere in my activities and the miles don’t seem to count.  I cannot see it at all on the app on my iphone.  I shared a link to show it’s visible but that is only via Strava.com.

Thanks for you help,

Kevin

Your elapsed time is really high.Usually cropping the beginning of the activity removes the bad data point throwing off the elapsed time.

I think the activity is corrupt in my garmin.. it won’t let me upload it via the usual methods only by going into the file system and grabbing the fit file.

Since you can see the activity on the web browser version of strava, open that activity on your computer and then click on the three dots and select “crop”.  On the next screen, grab the green dot at the left end of the slider and move it just a tiny bit to the right.  You just want to trim the very first few data points to get ride of the anomalous data that is creating the long elapsed time.  Click “crop”.  I can’t say for sure if this will resolve your other issue, but it should help take care of the time glitch in the file.

that did look to fix the very long elapsed time - thank you!  but it doesn’t show it as  a recorded activity. May have to chalk this up as a disappointing mystery.
