My Apple Watch multi sport workout doesn’t contain any GPS, distance and speed data when imported to Strava. Even changing the workout type to Ride (it’s just workout initially), this data doesn’t come up. While multi sport support was always bad, my last triathlons still contained the data (just showed up as one continuous workout see here for a thread on the problem https://communityhub.strava.com/t5/strava-features-chat/apple-multisport-activities-showing-up-as-1-activity/m-p/34241#M6330) It appears that sometime in the last months Strava changed to the worse by actively excluding any distance, speed and GPS data from Apple multisport and there is no sensible workaround afaik.

Hello @krisb

Sorry to hear this happened! Since we don't currently support multi-sport activity types on Strava, it's usually necessary to use our split tool to split your uploaded activity and then re-catogorize each one as the correct split type. However we would expect to see speed and GPS data recorded.

Can you confirm if you were recording with the Strava Apple Watch App?  Or were you using the Apple Health App on your Apple Watch?

 Apple Health App

Bump, this is frustrating.

I am having this exact experience. Using the apple fitness app multisport. It shows GPS on the apple fitness app but this is not transferring over to Strava - it just keeps saying indoor cycle or treadmill run, and does not give an option to split the workout.

@Jane11 , I'm having the same problem, I used Appel Health App on my Apple Watch and I didn't see any solution on your post. Can you please clarify why Strava isn't importing the GPS data of my Multi Sport recorded activity?

I used the native Apple Watch workout app (since Strava, as you say doesn’t support multisport, it’s worthless to use the Strava app during triathlons)

Joining into this conversation as there seems to be no way of tracking apple watch multisports on Strava. Personally, I have paid for Strava premium in order to track my training for a triathlon with my apple watch, if this cannot be uploaded to Strava at all it is impacting my ability to track my training. Not good enough!

Hello and thanks to everyone who posted here.

Strava doesn’t currently support multi-sport activities, such as triathlons.

This has been suggested, and you can add your votes and any additional comments to this feature suggestion

Thanks again, we appreciate you taking the time to add your thoughts.

I had the same issue - was very disappointed after completing my first triathlon that I couldn’t delve into the stats on Strava. I did manage to find a manual way of exporting and importing the data to get the individual activities for the swim, ride and run. Here’s how to do it - https://medium.com/@richard_38183/getting-multisport-workouts-from-apple-watch-into-strava-d0f810a44032
