Details - new IPhone 16 Pro. I do not recall this issue on my previous IPhone...

When recording stairclimber activity the clock stops when the screen is locked. I did a bunch of tests and it seems to happen after about 60 seconds, but may pick up after a few minutes for another minute. It’s an indoor activity so it doesn’t (shouldn’t) need GPS. It seems very random. 

For example, I started the activity and climbed for 15 minutes with my phone in my pocket (on screen lock) and it registered 6 minutes. 

I have background refresh ON in App settings. 

App is up to date as far as I can tell: v395.0.0 (r46412)

Is there some other setting I’m missing?

Thanks for your post. I believe you are being impacted by the same issue described here:
