Hi!

I have a Garmin Vivoactive 3 which I record my hikes & rides on via the Garmin app. I’ve then connected the Garmin app & device to Strava.  When I recently uploaded my hike yesterday, the maps are not uploading to Strava showing where I was. The last activity that had a map was my walk upload on Oct 4. Was there a setting change that prevents map uploads now? I also tried deleting the Garmin app linkage within strava & reconnecting it, but that did not resolve the map upload.

Make sure the GPS on your watch is enabled for the activity you’re recording. Do you see a map in Garmin Connect for your activities?

Just checked and I dont see a map in the Garmin Connect app either. Weird, as I used to see the map automatically. How do I check if GPS is turned on?

GPS should be automatic. One thing you can do, is step outside and select an activity to start. Wait for the GPS signal to be acquired then press the start button.

Failing that, this article might help https://www8.garmin.com/manuals/webhelp/GUID-A17FE8AC-DA32-4494-ABD1-AD1A388CC0C0/EN-US/GUID-783E2C4A-85FB-4E82-946E-16003B9B599A.html

@Karina77 Steps for the VIvoactive 3 are here - https://www8.garmin.com/manuals/webhelp/vivoactive/EN-US/GUID-1ACDA769-89EB-438C-80EC-F63D01631BA7.html

Also note that it says:

NOTE: The device does not use GPS unless you are recording an outdoor activity.

Make sure the activity profile you choose is an outdoor activity. From the spec list (https://www.garmin.com/en-US/p/571520#specs) it seems like your default options are for skiing, rowing/SUP, cycling, and running. Try choosing one of those, or creating a custom activity profile based on one of them (https://www8.garmin.com/manuals/webhelp/vivoactive3/EN-US/GUID-1E365EB2-6BC1-4E25-96D9-5D4742A56BF0.html)
