Hi Strava community 😀

For a while now the activity map is white. The trail is red and visible as usual but the map is gone.

If I open the activity and change to the map it is just like it supposed to be.

This isn't just my own activities, it's the same for all the activities in my flow.

The problem is just in the app not the website.

Thanks for all answers

When any athlete uploads a run or ride I can see their map, but if I click on the map the whole map is white but I can still see the red route line. This has only started happening in the past few days. I see other users complained about the same problem in 2023. Is anyone else experiencing this and do you have a fix? I have contacted Strava support but the last time I did that they took weeks to reply.

I'm seeing the same issue.  If you look at segments on the ride/run it will show the background map. But that is hardly a workaround. I've contacted Strava as well but haven't heard back.

Great, Sometimes it works but its seldom.

Hi and thanks to everyone who posted here. We’re looking into this and we’ll update you here as soon as we know more.

I tracked it down to having turned app protection on through duckduckgo. I turned app protection off, restarted Strava and maps are now showing. I'd prefer to be able to keep the protection on, but turning it off seemed to resolve the issue.

Ahh, I never tried to turn Duckduckgo off but as you I prefer to have it on.

Thanks, this does fix the issue but I have absolutely no intention of allowing trackers so hopefully Strava get it fixed.

I have exactly the same opinion about trackers as Thompaj. Strava comes with a lot of trackers. I prefer to leave as less track as possible for Google and others to exploit. So, Strava has to do better. After all we are paying customers.
