Strava Challenges

I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this, I find the Strava challenges as a good motivation to get out and about. I have noticed that I am seeing less challenges and only ones recommended for me. Is there anyway if accessing more random challenges like there used to be? It may be that I am not a premium account holder.Hopefully someone can advise.Thanks

Hey all! It's Jane & Scout! On behalf of all of Strava we want to welcome you to the Strava Community Hub. We have a tradition here, where each month we ask our members to introduce themselves and share a little bit of info so we can get to know you better. This month, let’s talk about food! Specifically, what’s your favorite snack to pack along during an activity, or to have after you’re done? When heading out on a long(ish) bike ride, Jane always brings along an orange and a few almonds. After a long run, she often craves and eats a banana 🍌. Weirdly, Jane doesn't really like bananas and this is the only time she will ever eat one. As for Scout, she'll usually have some trail mix that includes some M&M's on hand.  June is also a special month because it’s pride month! what happens to subscription when you change country

Hi, I'm evaluating the purchase of an annual subscription, I'm Italian, but I'm looking to move to Germany next year... I know that in Germany the cost of subscription is higher, and I'd like to know if my annual subscription purchased in Italy will be usable when (and if, I'm not 100% sure at the moment) I move to Germany... I've searched info regarding this matter (other country also) but I haven't found anything...Thank You

First post to say hello and a quick question...

I've been using Strava for some time, but this is my first post to the Campfire Chat. I usually use my Coros watch and upload after training, however, in the near future I hope to do a multi month hiking trip. Depending on battery life I'll likely stick with using Strava to measure my hikes via the app on my phone. If my phones battery starts to die I'll likely use my Coros watch. My issue is that I won't be able to access the internet for days at a time. So I wonder, can the Strava app keep track of my hikes and upload them when i have wifi. If so how many can the app store?I could foresee myself needing to store 7 days of hikes, potentially with each day comprising about 12 hours of hiking. Many thanks in advance.

What to do about unsafe behaviour ?

A new user has appeared in my area in the last few weeks.  They have recorded quite a few activities, mostly as Mountain Bike Rides, and almost all have been flagged due to infeasible high speeds.  The speeds have been high enough to be dangerous to other road users - such as 60 mph on a street with a limit of 30 mph and today it was over 100 mph (for about a mile on a flat road) where the speed limit is 70 mph.  I worry that Strava might be used by people boasting about the high speeds they can achieve with motor bikes or cars.  Simply flagging such activities doesn't seem to be enough - can Strava do something to stop this reckless and dangerous behaviour ? I think I saw somewhere that Strava would remove accounts showing inappropriate behaviour, but I don't know how this works in practice.

New Route Builder

Not sure if its me, user error, but I dont like the new Route Builder. I loved the old version dragging the line to re-route was so easy, now I am finding when using Gravel paths etc it doesnt easily allow me to change the route to where I want it to go ? it keeps taking me a way I dont want to go, I'm finding im having to be in constant manual mode in large sections of off road paths, they are well ridden as I can see from heat map......Maybe its just Me but I'd love the old version back. I dont want to have to use RWGPS or Koomoot but their routing is  so much straight forward.....is anyone else having annoying issues with the new version ??

Long time listener, first time caller!

My name is Nick, a long time Strava-er here to finally say hello!I remember a time before Strava, and I remember the period of time when I resisted using Strava, preferring to stick to manually writing down my daily ride statistics in a notebook and manually (well, with my TI-89 calculator, at least) calculating monthly and annual totals at the end of each respective time period. I remember when I finally gave in and made an Instagram account because, at the time, posting a picture to Instagram while actually in the middle of an activity was the only way to get a picture posted to your activity on Strava. After all this time and all of the iterations of Strava, I can truly say that I enjoy it. It has definitely had some hiccups, and I have had to personally take some mental health breaks from it, but for the most part, I believe Strava to be a great tool.After all these years, I have decided to stop thinking of all of the ideas I have that could improve my experience on the site and ap

Just joined and privacy is sketchy af

In looking to see if Strava was worth it, I couldn't dind a clear list of free ca paid features, but found an article about privacy and that I have to opt out of everything. Every. single. option. to allow or deny a privacy permission defaulted to sharing data except the health data option. I'm giving Strava a try to possibly replace Google's Fitbit before they completely butcher it. This privacy thing is a huge turn off. Is it worth staying if I stay on the free license? I'm just interested in biking, and maybe discovering new routes locally.

Tuesday Chat with Team Strava: Optimizing your Peloton Bike Experience on Strava

Hello and welcome to Tuesday Chat with Team Strava! Have you ever wondered if you can use Strava’s power analysis features  to help increase your performance on your Peloton bike?  The answer is yes!   Here’s how to get started: All Peloton bikes measure power output (referred to as simply “output” on Peloton), and output is a key metric in the Peloton ecosystem.   FTP stands for Functional Threshold Power, which is defined as the highest average power you can sustain for approximately an hour, measured in watts. To determine your current FTP, take an FTP test ride on your Peloton bike.  Once you know your result, you can enter that number into your Strava profile: Scroll to the bottom of this page for Instructions to enter your FTP in your Strava profile. Once you’ve entered your FTP, you’ve optimized your Strava account to use our power analysis feature and you’ll be able to analyze your power efforts in detail after the ride..   One of

I’m Will and I’ve worked on the Community Management team for just under 3 years now. I’m originally from Illinois but have also lived in Southern California and now live and train in Colorado. Before joining Strava I was a college cross country and track coach.  Q: How did you get into running, and what was the key decision factor for you to start running on a professional level?  A: My parents always encouraged me to have an active lifestyle since I was little so I was always spending time outside and pretty well did any sport offered at our small school growing up. Believe it or not the Presidential Fitness test was what really got me interested in running fast. (Is that even something they do in schools anymore?) Hello fellow Athletes and activity trackers!

Hello Stravarites! Like most of you (i'm sure), i'm a long term Strava user across multiple sports and activities including running, hiking, cycling, E-Mountainbiking, Analogue Mountainbiking etc.I have recently begun tracking a new activity.. ELECTRIC FLIGHT!As a part of my pilot journey, learning to fly in an ELECTRIC recreational aircraft, i have started logging my E-FLIGHTs with Strava. I'm hoping Starva can accommodate me and other electric aviators with an E-FLIGHT activity category soon so we can fine-tune our clubs and growing community of zero-emissions aviators.I'd love you see your comments or Kudos on some of my routes and images from the sky!
