I created a route, downloaded it for offline use. When I arrived at my location, there was no mobile signal so I put my device in airplane mode. I retrieved the saved route, and selected start route. The app started recording. There was an orange line, indicating my route. All good. I push the power button on my phone to turn off my screen to save battery. At my first intersection, I pushed the power button to turn my screen on, and I watch the orange line disappear. To get it back I need to press the back button on my phone to return to the previous screen in the app, then choose “Start Route” again. The orange line is back. I then turn off my screen again, and when I turn it back on, poof, orange line gone again. I go back to the previous screen in app, select “Start Route”, and orange line is back. I turn off my screen, and...repeat, repeat, repeat, for 13 miles of my hike.

This has been a problem for me (and others) for awhile now and it's pathetic Strava cannot get one of the most basic functions of the app to work correctly

I'm really surprised that the recent update hasn't addressed this issue yet. It's quite frustrating, as this seems like an app-breaking bug. Is there any update on when Strava might prioritize a fix for this?

It's pretty awful, to the point I'm considering canceling my subscription

Same problem, but this happened with a full cell signal too as well as offline. I discovered the problem 20 miles into a 300 mile nonstop ride. With many intersections, I was having to stop and reload the route every 10 minutes. If downloaded routes does not work, why am I'm paying for it?

Same issue, very frustrating, started using komoot just because of this

For me it happens when turning off screen, or when switching apps

Fix this please

As of today, this issue is fixed. Also fixed is the centering zoom level issue. You can once again center at whatever zoom level you choose. I was able to confirm on my hike .I used a saved route and recorded it, switching the screen off, then on, several times.
