Hi Strava Developer Team,I built a private web app for a personal fitness challenge between 10 friends during March 2026. The app is called March Mile Challenge (Client ID: 205884).This is completely private — not a public app. All 10 users are personal friends. We just want to track our miles together for a friendly competition.Could you please increase my athlete limit from 1 to 10?App URL: https://march-mile-masters.lovable.appClient ID: 205884Use case: Private group of 10 friends onlyThank you!
Application Name: FTPTrainer Client ID: 171716 Application Description: FTPTrainer is an iOS fitness app that helps cyclists analyze their training intensity and get personalized workout recommendations based on power zones (FTP) and performance history. We use Strava API to: - Read athlete activities (ride workouts) - Access power data streams - Read athlete zones (FTP and heart rate thresholds) Current Status: We've exceeded the development mode athlete limit (403 error) Expected Users: 50 We comply with Strava Brand Guidelines and respect user data privacy. A feature that would be incredibly valuable inside Strava is the ability to export high resolution vector files of personal heatmaps combined with route overlays. Many of us would love to physically frame our cycling journeys. A clean 2D map view with personal heatmap data is not just functional, it is meaningful.Current limitation:There is no proper way to export a scalable, print ready version of your heatmap. Screenshots lose resolution and cannot scale well for large format prints.Suggested feature:• Export as vector formats such as SVG or PDF• High resolution output suitable for A2, A1, or larger prints• Option to choose map style such as light, dark, minimal• Toggle elements on or off such as labels, roads, terrain• Include or exclude specific date ranges• Ability to overlay a selected route or multiple highlighted routesUse cases:• Framing a multi country cycling journey• Documenting a specific training year• Creating a visual memory of a race build• Personalized home or studio a
When multiple routes and heatmaps overlap in Strava, it becomes visually cluttered and difficult to clearly distinguish the active route from background data. This is especially problematic in dense urban areas or popular cycling regions where heat density is high and several saved routes overlap on the same roads.Suggested enhancement:Introduce a subtle vertical translucent height effect to the selected route.Concept:• The active route rises slightly above the map surface• A translucent “fence” or wall effect follows the route line• Adjustable opacity and height• Other routes and heatmaps remain flatBenefits:• Immediate visual hierarchy• Clear separation from background heat layers• Better focus during long route planning sessions• Reduced visual fatigueThis would make the selected route unmistakably clear without removing the context of surrounding heat data. For users managing many routes or planning rides weekly, stronger visual distinction would significantly improve usability and r
Hello everyone,I’m developing an Android application using the Strava API (Client ID: 194350) as part of an educational project for my institute. The OAuth flow works fine for me (the app creator), but **other users cannot complete the authorization process** — they are unable to link their Strava account.I have:- Correct OAuth implementation in my app- Redirect URI correctly configured- Scopes: `read`, `activity:read_all`- Tested with multiple users and devicesThe app is not yet published on Google Play, and I have not added a Privacy Policy or Terms URL because it’s still in development.I need **a small group of classmates/testers** to be able to authorize the app.Has anyone encountered this issue?- Is there a requirement from Strava that blocks external authorization unless certain conditions are met?- Does Strava require a published app or additional configuration?- Are there steps to enable external user authorization? Thanks in advance for any help or guidance!
I've built an application using a domain for webhook, for some reasons I've to switch to new domain, will this transition be smooth or should I request all my users to register again?
I entered a segment and then I took a turn halfway and the segment stayed on pause the entire ride. The segment should exit tracking when I get off its course. Also, there should be an option to click away the segment info display when I am not interested in a segment so I can see my usual ride statistics view. Also, it would be great if I can swipe from segment view to the statistic view anyway. (Another great option would be if I could see the pr and KOM tracking comparison on the mini display also)
Cześć, do założenia konta użyłem sign with Apple i ten wygenerował mi swojego maila jako hide my e-mail.
Sport types listed in the API do not match the recent article on supported sport types: https://support.strava.com/hc/en-us/articles/216919407-Supported-Sport-Types-on-Strava.Can someone please provide a definitive list of supported sport types and their corresponding values for the API?Thanks!
Activity 17160221247 is of Alpine Skiing type. It shows 10,923 ft of “Vertical” in the mobile app, but only 25 ft of “Elevation” on the web site. The getActivityById() endpoint is returning 7.0 under “total_elevation_gain” (only parameter in DetailedActivity we can use to derive elevation or vertical). This is resulting in wrong data displayed in our application and we cannot explain the difference between the mobile view and web view on Strava. Can you please look into it and tell us how to fix the problem? The activity was recorded on Slopes and uploaded to Strava.
Hi there,It seems like there is a lot of discussions about the webhook API and it seems to be kind of going nowhere.Strava wants to enforce fewer API Calls, but doesn't really make an easy way of going about that, when the webhooks are this limited.I have a list improvements that I can think of:Update on "gear_id" changesUpdate on "workout_type" eg. from none to "race"Update on "type" going from walk -> runThese changes could really make for a better user experience, where right now users of 3rd party apps are kind of forced to update the "short description" of an activity to trigger a webhook. As I mentioned before there has been a lot of talk about this, both on this forum and on the old google user group. But it seems like Strava is not really taking it seriously. Is there any plans at all to improve the Webhook API?
How do i go about getting my app approved? I’m at the mvp stage and would like to get a handful of test users using it with a view to going life in the next month or so.
Hey everyone 👋I'm Marien, been working with the Strava API since 2017 and attended the Developer Summit last year. I finally launched something I've been building: WatchMy.bike - a bike and component tracker that syncs with Strava. How it uses the Strava API:When you connect your account, it queues up an initial sync of your activities using Cloudflare Queues. After that, the webhook keeps everything updated in real-time as you log new rides. There's also a backup sync every 6 hours just in case.Link your WatchMy.bike bikes to your Strava bikes, and the mileage flows through to all your components automatically - chains, cassettes, tires, etc.The main thing I wanted that Strava's built-in gear tracking doesn't do: public profiles to share your builds. You get a custom URL to show off your bikes with full specs, component history, and distance stats. There's also an AI import wizard - you can paste spec lists or even copy your existing Strava gear table and it extracts everything, using
Hello,I submitted my rate limit and athlete capacity increase request about 4 weeks ago (Client ID:185234 ) and haven’t received any response yet.For those who have gone through this process, how long did it typically take to get a response from the Strava team? Thanks!
I have a Xiaomi Band 6 and have recently joined the 100k steps challenge. It’s not counting anything though. From research, I’ve come to understand that Strava requires a cadence field to calculate steps and it seems no way of uploading activities (manually, Mi Fitness Strava integration, through Apple Health) uploads them correctly.Having exported my data from Xiaomi, I know they have the information, but I guess whatever .fit file they are generating is not correct. My question is, can I somehow add the cadence in the existing activities through the API? If not, can I do so by making my own .fit files and uploading them manually (basically delete the old activity and reupload it the right one)? Also I’ve been trying to figure out if I can access any of the .fit files previously uploaded, but I haven’t managed so far. Is it possible? Or does the backend delete them after import?
There was a list of community voted on feature requests, did that list get deleted? It seems like there were some changes to the forum since the last time I checked a month ago; did these requests get moved somewhere else?
Hello,Since yesterday (it was the first time I try to reach this url), I’m unable to reach my API setttings dashboard (https://www.strava.com/settings/api) The main column is empty : There is no error in the console. It worked a few times, but rarely. Thanks a lot for your help,Regards,Deodat
Hello Strava Team,I am currently developing an application to manage and track activity logs for athletes in my running club. The application works correctly for the first athlete who authorizes it. However, when a second athlete attempts to connect, I receive the following error:Error 403: Limit of connected athletes exceededCould you please help review my application and advise on how to increase the connected athletes limit? My Application Client ID: 135639This app is intended for internal club management purposes only, where multiple club members authorize access to their activity data. Please let me know if you need any additional information about the application.Thank you very much for your support.Best regards,Nguyen Hai Thanh
As many runners, I own multiple pairs of shoes and rotate through them regularly between runs. I find it annoyingly cumbersome to edit my shoe selection after each run. The process involves 9 steps:Tapping on the run title to view run details Tapping on the […] for the options menu Tapping on “Edit Activity” Scrolling down to see default shoe selection Tapping on the default shoe to reveal the shoe selection menu Scrolling down to my desired shoe (I have listed many shoes, so I can’t see some of them without scrolling) Tapping on the desired shoe choice Tapping on “Edit Activity” Tapping out of the individual activity back to the feed. Can we have a simple shortcut for shoe selection edits, please? Adding media, cropping an activity and other edit options that I rarely use seem to be far simpler operations than selecting a shoe, which I do after nearly every run.
A sport type such as bleep test should be recorded which can track improvement in bleep test scoring. A bleep test is more than just a run.
Hi all,I’ve been developing an app with the Strava API like many of you and have run into a novel issue as of yesterday. Oauth is complete, GET, POST, and PUT requests were working, but during some debugging yesterday I got: Error:Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'address').I originally ran into this issue in my IDE and decided to try to reach the Strava API directly, same issue, so was not the program. Any GET request returns this and it’s likely not a token issue as that would just return a normal auth error in the past (as recent as yesterday just before this new error started). Originally the error popped up for GET activity, but now even sending a GET to retrieve a new access token returns this error. It looks like this error is returned while trying to read some undefined object property address (likely either athlete or activity?). Has there been any changes to the API recently, like within the past few days?I’m hesitant to say it’s on the API server side, but was wo
Hi everyone,I’m working on a website that integrates with the Strava API to display user activity data such as recent rides, runs, distances, and timestamps. The integration generally works, but I’ve started running into issues where the data returned by the API is either incomplete or delayed compared to what users see directly on their Strava accounts. In particular, newly uploaded activities don’t always appear on my website immediately, even though the access token is valid and the API request completes successfully. In some cases, older activities load correctly while the most recent one is missing, or certain fields (like elapsed time or elevation data) come back as null or outdated. This makes the frontend display inconsistent and confusing for users.I’ve verified that the app is using the correct scopes during OAuth authorization and that rate limits aren’t being exceeded. I’m also handling token refresh properly and storing refreshed tokens as expected. From the API logs, the r
I just think it would be nice to have an option for a moving average style pace chart instead of the spikes graph. That is all. (In the native app btw. I’ve seen third parties do amazing implementations of the API)
I’d love the ability to define “Home” and “Work” location pairs, and have Strava automatically tag an activity as a Commute when it starts in one zone and ends in the other.Ideally, these locations would be set up similarly to Privacy Zones—using circular areas rather than exact addresses.Tracking commutes is fun and genuinely useful (weekly totals, trends, motivation), and this data would be a great addition to Year in Sport / Wrapped- for example, total commute miles, days commuted, or CO2 saved.Apologies if this is a duplicate topic; I searched, but other threads were dead ends/had broken links. As a related but separate idea, it’d be great to have an option to automatically combine “to work” and “from work” commute pairs into a single activity (or at least show them as one in the feed), so I don’t feel like I’m flooding my friends’ feeds.
