The Year In Sport Trend Report

Do you love year end recaps?  I sure do, so I was excited to read the Strava Year in Sport Trend Report We surveyed 6990 active people from around the world, and combined that with 2023 activity data from Strava, to come up with insights about the trends shaping the world of exercise.     Here's a few of the highlights I found particularly interesting: running was the most uploaded sport type on Strava, followed by cycling and walking 76% of Strava Athletes with pets say their pet helps get them exercising when they otherwise wouldn't women in the United States are 70% more likely than men to say that lack of a safe space to exercise is a barrier to working out.  Globally, only 9% of women cite this. gravel riding is growing!  In 2023 the share of Athletes uploading gravel rides increased by 55% Check out the full report here and let us know what you think.  What surprised you the most and how do you see some of these trends changing as we

When my son's on my phone he somehow seems to keep entering me into challenges that I've no desire to participate in. There's no way to remove myself from them afterwards. Can you set up some functionality to exit a challenge that you accidentally enter please?

Strava extension app - My workout companion

Hello everyone, I am a huge Strava fan and in order to get more detailed overviews of workouts data I have developed an extension app for Strava which offers additional analytics, visualizations and summarizations of your workouts. It was built to satisfy my own needs, but while working on it, I decided to make it public, where also other people could enjoy it.Feel free to try it, it is available here https://myworkoutcompanion.net/ as standalone app. For Chrome and Edge users there is browser plugin which integrates additional functionality directly to Strava webpage. I hope you found this app useful. Split a long trip into daily routes and still maintain an overview of the entire trip

Hey everybody, I am going to make a long route soon (±1000km), I have mapped it out in Strava. I plan to cycle ±100-150km every day. I would like to see the overview in one report of my entire route (±1000km) afterwards, but I would like to see how many altitude meters and kilometers I have to cover per day. I would also like to decide every day to which point I will continue. Is there a possibility to combine both?

If you're new here, then it's a little Community ritual we like to keep going each month to have you come and introduce yourself. Share whatever you're comfortable with, whether that's what activities you like to do, what you're interested in learning from other Strava athletes to help you go further, or just a random fact about yourself. For February, let's talk about your all time favorite place to be active - whether that's riding a bike, hiking, walking or something else entirely. There's lots of places I love to ride my road bike, but my all time favorite is on the country roads west of Morristown, New Jersey, USA.  The labyrinth of winding roads snake through beautiful green countryside, the pavement is smooth, and  vehicle traffic is almost non-existent.  The hills are mostly rolling and the other cyclists you encounter are prone to smiling and waving.   This particular ride

Running for making friends

 How a lethargic morning ended up meeting my college alumini.Plan was to just go to the park and do a 60 min time spent with a slow jogg.Indeed , started with very jogging pace, however after 2 nd km it came back to my normal pace( as per strava )even though effort wise both mentally and physically was not even average effort.7 th km tried to put the effort with strides and looked like it I was struggling beyond 4.20 pace.But happy to complete the 60 min.Post run, the interesting part was, I saw a person like  my MBA alumni and I started scrolling LinkedIn to find him.Finally , I broke my hesitation to hay hi to him and test was a free flow conversation.Some learning: ” most of the daily problem can be avoided just like that of we know HOW TO SPEAK,HOW TO ASK QUESTIONS,MBA helps.”A 60 min after probably an year.https://strava.app.link/xF25tgUMsCb

BEACON for everybody.

Security is the most important thing when we practice sport, and Strava have BEACON to connect our trainings with family and friends. I don't understand why Strava just connect with Garmin if the others users are paying the same amount of money every year.Please, allow other devices (for me COROS) to connect with Beacon and bring us a happy and SAFETY new year for everybody.

I ran every street in Manhattan (Recorded with Strava)

On December 19th, I finished running every single block of every street and avenue in Manhattan. It took me all year and covered roughly 750 miles, not including the times I had to double back.On this date in 1954, 65-year old Thomas Keane  finished walking every street in Manhattan, a feat that the New York Times included coverage of. Fifty years later to the day, Columbia University librarian Caleb Smith  repeated Keane’s accomplishment. After running two miles down Madison Avenue, I carried on a tradition that has now lasted for almost 70 years, bringing my pointless but difficult quest to run every street in Manhattan to a close.I would record each run with Strava and export the GPX data, then combine it with a previous run using GPX.studio to create an ongoing map of my progress. Editing run to trail

Hi all, I went for a run yesterday, forgot to start the run as a trail run. When I got back and ended I realised so I changed the run to a trail, but the moving time and my pace doesn't match previous trail runs I've done on the same route. Is there a way you can recalculate these when editing a run to a trail?

Happy to part of Strava

Hello! My name is Kajal and I've been using Strava for a while now. I recently became a paying member and am excited to finally engage with the community through this chat. As an IVF doctor, my days can be quite busy, but cycling has been a constant companion for the past 10 years.This Sunday, I'll be turning 54 and I find myself reflecting on the joys and challenges that cycling has brought me. Despite not being an expert cyclist and being somewhat overweight, I've actively participated in various cycling races over the years. Though I must admit, uphill rides are not my favorite!I'm really looking forward to connecting with other Strava users and hearing about their experiences on the platform. Being a part of this community feels like a new adventure for me, and I'm eager to share and learn from all of you. Here to the next chapter in my cycling journey and friendships I hope to build here on Strava!

Strava fitness graph frequently drops 2 points in one day

Most of the time the Strava fitness graph drops 1 point on days without activities. When reading about the way the Strava fitness graph works this 1 point drop per day is the way it should behave.However: a few times per month the score drops 2 points in a single day. And this seems "unfair" 😉 😉. Does anyone know why this 2 points drop might happen?

Email Groups as Club Admin

On Stava's grow your brand site, they recommend use of a shared email address or group for club admin. I've included the verbiage and link below. Has anyone done this? I take this to mean you've got to create a fake Strava user and assign the group email to that user. Is that correct?https://business.strava.com/blog/grow-brand-strava-clubsAppoint an employee(s) as your club admin. Tip: If possible, use a shared email address or distribution group, as opposed to an individual employee's email address, for your Strava club to allow easier management across a team.
