Does anyone else find it annoying to see one random activity from a year ago in your feed?

This should be optional. Some people might get motivated by seeing what they did on this day last year, but I find it distracting when reviewing my activity log. Some of the are short commutes, which I definitely don’t need to reminisce about. If people want this, they could turn it on, but since it has been added to my activity feed it’s diminished my experience of the activity feed.

I like this feature, but have on occasion thought it was a recent activity instead. Maybe the background could be a different colour (orange) to change it from the usual activities one the feed?

That's a great idea as well! Distinguishing "reminder activities" from current activities in a visual manner as well as a text-based manner could be super helpful for visually capable users, as otherwise it is tough to determine at a glance if you are interested in an activity or not. I think that's similar but slightly separate from the ask here though, which is to disable them entirely or being able to disable a subset of your activities.

I feel like that really that would be the best solution, and to allow doing so through a variety of filters. Say, disabling reminders for activities you tag specifically, activities that occurred with a specific person (perhaps an ex-lover or someone close who has passed away), or activities within a certain location-based radius (perhaps a place which is traumatic in your past). Allowing more control over this in any way makes so much sense to me that it's really baffling this feature was released without more capabilities, my only rationalization is that it was likely a hack week project which was (and indeed is) very cool and quickly shippable but really disregards the emotional nuance of the "Past" as a concept. Maybe I have too much faith in individuals, but I really hope some real person notices all of this and decides to try and make a difference in the corporate world for the (likely large number of) people who love to interact with this platform but have places of life they would really not like to revisit without consent.

It’s not difficult to add an option to make this optional (if it is then you might want to rethink how your app is written), so I’m surprised this is still being discussed and ignored.

How many votes does it take before any action? I got 99 problems and seeing activities from 2 years ago on my current feed is one!

It adds zero benefit only confusion. Its a bullsh*t feature. Get rid of it

I really wish they would stop trying to turn this website into FB/Insta/Whatever.

Should be optional.

+1 on disable.  I had a commute from four, four! years ago in my activity feed. Make zero sense and makes me think and have to parse it out when scanning for the thing I actually want to find.

Agree. I found this thread by googling how to turn it off.

Old feeds are not something that I want to see when I am looking at current activities - it is confusing and offers me nothing I want to see.

100% agree it should be optional. It is so annoying seeing the past feeds, especially when I'm on strava almost daily it us just noise I don't need.

+1 on disable or make optional. As mentioned by others, most memories are boring commutes, just clogging up the feed. It makes it hard to check if all my new activities have uploaded correctly from their various sources. please put it on the backlog Strava 🙏

I'd also like to turn this off. I'm coming back from a major trauma injury, I don't need to be constantly reminded of all the fun things I can't do anymore (and won't be able to for months) every time I just want to log a short walk on crutches or my rationed time on the turbo.

Make this optional Strava, it's poor customer experience.

Completely agree with this. It is distracting, unhelpful and annoying to see activities from years ago in the activities feed.

Just checking to see if this is now optional. April a year ago I was hit by a car and lost my dog. I really don't want to be reminded of that activity or the days leading up to it. Please tell me I can run off the yearly reminders/memories. Thank you.
