It's 2022 and most apps have Dark Mode nowadays. It might be a bit weird to use Strava when not working out... But looking at the segments the night before to plan out the next run is a thing. Please make us literally lose less sleep when doing this, or when recording an activity in the evening. Offer a level of subscription that can work for two or more people who are part of the same family. Hi all, Southern part of Turkey was hit 2 huge earthquakes at 6th of February. 10 cities were demolished, till now, more than 18k people died. Support and donations are very critical for re-building the life at disaster area. You are a very popular app. among all cyclists and runners in Turkey. Best efforts are now included in cycling which is great.  However these include everyones virtual rides which they should not.  For example  in no way should a fantasy downhill compare against a real downhill descent.   Virtual rides should be counted as a completely different sport. ... View more

Reposted here at request of Soren from Stava, thank you.   I’d like the opportunity to communicate privately and directly with fellow Strava athletes e.g. gear and route questions, co-training opportunities, etc.; things that are too detailed for the comments section. Creating, integrating, and “policing” an internal Strava personal messaging system is daunting, but what about Strava allowing an email sharing “opt in”?  Any athlete could allow conversation through their Strava verified sign-in email but it would be hidden behind a “contact this athlete” button on Strava. Only the receiving athlete would see the sending athlete’s email and they could choose to reply or not reply and continue the communication off the Strava website within their personal email (gmail, yahoo, etc).  The general Strava audience would not see any personal email, just the “contact this athlete” button—unless it is grayed out because the athlete chose to not partake in this form of direct communication.   What are your thoughts and ideas please? update from Strava: Hello and thank you all for your votes and comments on this suggestion.  This has been implemented and you can now hide the start time as well as other details from your activities when they appear in other athletes’ feeds or when others view your activity. I would love to be able to have different shoes set as my default for walking vs. running, as well as a different default bike for road vs. MTB.  I often forget to change which shoes/bike I did what on, then that messes up my milage tracking (for when to change shoes or tires/tyres). I suggest that Strava have a page/place where we can see all our efforts for those distances: 5km; 10km; 15km; 21km; 42km (running) 20km; 50km; 100km; 150km; 200km (cycling) When we run 15km in a good pace, for example, strava shows that is our best 15k mark, or 2nd or 3rd. But when we runk 15km in a slow pace we do not know whick position that mark is. ... View more

I would like to draw my own route independent of any potentially found routes around me. The button is currently not shown until the routes around me load, which in most cases is a waste of time and resources, and in cases of failure means no button at all. (Several failures in a row prompted me to write this suggestion.)  Update from Strava: Thanks to all who voted and commented. I'm pleased to let you know that we recently rolled a new "map only" feature on IOS and Android.        When you select Map features, you will now see a new option “Map Only”. This mode does not show Segments or Routes and enables you to explore new areas and get the most value out of our Global Heatmap and their Personal Heatmap! I'd love to see the amount of carbon dioxide emissions prevented from commuting by bicycle, walking, etc. It could be displayed on your activity just like calories burned (but only when "commute" is chosen). Not only could this encourage more people to choose active transportation, but I read on your Commutes on Strava page that "we hope to make the commuting experience on Strava more rewarding and exciting in the future." A win-win! I think it is important for me and for other athletes that the data of the best marks / best results in the different distances (1km, 5km, 10km, half marathon and marathon) also appear for each year. Like most athletes, I am getting older and despite training the best results tend not to improve from one year to the next. But each year I can always have moments of better form and better results. For example, knowing my best result in the 10km in 2022 can motivate me to improve, even though I know that it will be very difficult to improve my result from 5 years ago in my peak form and that was my best result ever. ... Feature: For routes, add grouping and sorting functionality to the web an mobile app. Over time I have built up a library of routes which I use. Scrolling through them is painful. I would like to be able to group/categorise routes and also sort them by various fields. **Edit** Expanding on the comments from my fellow users about this idea, fields to filter and sort by: Route name Created date Last modified date Start location Route type [Out and back | Point to point] Terrain [Flat | Rolling | Hilly | Mountains] Distance Ride Type The grouping into folders is something I also had in mind but from an implementation point of view I get that tags, filtering and sorting is easier to deliver. Folders would be great though.  I would like to add either destination or mid point and be able to filter/sort by these. Basically the café stop so, location of the café and café name. I have multiple routes to the same café: On a point to point route the destination is the end point. It could also have a mid point for a stop/café. On a an out and  back it could be the mid point or, on longer rides multiple points (multiple cafés.) Looking at a one to many here, but a café stop option would be great. Currently, Strava only supports the Segment Search and the Segment Explore features for the Running and Cycling sports. To use Segments for any other sport, you have to guess the name, create a segment yourself or accidentally match an existing segment during an activity. Instead, the Segment Search and Explore pages should just have a dropdown for the set of sport tags for which segments make sense rather than the binary switch which forces filtering to either a Running or a Cycling sport tag. ... It would be great if we can see our best efforts displayed under our profile pics, like some athletes are doing on other social media sites. It’s becoming increasingly popular to show your 1k, 1mile, 5k and 10k best times. Right now these efforts are hidden away in statistics. We should be proud to display our best efforts. ... View more
