If you’ve been looking for a fresh way to review your activity, look no further as we want to introduce you to Flyovers.

Flyover is a subscription based feature that gives you the ability to visualize your own routes, suggested routes, activities, and any other Strava activities you can access on a dynamic 3D map. The interactive video will show pace, distance, and elevation of all GPS based activities that have a distance less than 100km.

With our latest update, we’re happy to announce that you can now share your Flyovers as well!

They can be shared via the share button on both the Activity Details page and the Flyover screen. After beginning the process to share, there will be a push notification to notify when the video is ready. Please note, videos must be rendered before they are shared which means longer activities may need more time to generate.

Flyover videos can be shared directly through Instagram Stories. A shareable link will be created for all other social media. For more information on Flyovers take a look at our support page here.

Nice… just tried that with today's lunch walk - it's good that the shared video also excludes the hidden part of the map, as the regular flyover didn't have that option.

Shall we also get the option to save the video as a file? So that we can share it also on platforms that don't allow links. Thanks!

Hey @Jana_S,

Happy to read you enjoy the feature!
To answer your question about saving the file, I don’t believe this is on the roadmap just yet but I’m sure it will be considered when the team is ready.

This is a junk 'feature' and I have no interest in it. I don't want this to be the default option when sharing an activity, so please allow us to turn thos off or set the default ourselves as it is very annoying.

Hi Strava, please fix flyover viewing in android app. I have not been able to view any flyovers going on 6 months now, the flyover map is entirely white.

Is it just me, but I seem to have lost the heatmap (mine and global) with this update.  I would far far rather have that than the flyover (which we had anyway)?).  This was for a run (curiously seems that my ride hasn’t changed).

Hi @Bryant,

What’s the best way to provide feedback on the new UI when saving or editing activities? It’s a pretty horrible user experience, and the updated map in an activity with the flyover features is a nightmare... 😢🤢

On Android.

Cheers,

K

Is flyover disabled for virtual activities (Rouvy) after this update?
