Disc golf is one of the faster growing sports/activities in the world (especially N. America, Europe, & Australia). It combines hiking and the aerobic activity of throwing, working core, legs, and arms. I currently log my disc golf as hiking, but I occasionally hike as well and would very much like to differentiate a pure hike from my disc golf.
+1 on this! Garmin has its own activity for disc golf so it's kinda funny when Strava saves disc golf activities as workouts when I log and keep score on them with my Garmin watch.
A disc golf activity is definitely needed on Strava as well.
Just downloaded the app and my first thought was "they need to add disc golf". I am about to go play a round and figured I'd track with walking or see how golf works out.
I play a ton of disc golf and currently post my rounds as walks. I pay a good amount of money for Strava and would love to be able to upload my rounds as what they are. A moderator mentioned that this is up for voting, where can we vote?
I just switched from a Samsung Watch to a Garmin. I used to just start a Hike on my Samsung, but now the Garmin has both a "Disc Golf" activity as well as the UDisc app (the one and only app used by Disc Golf players), and Garming Connect / Strava registers a round as "Workout".
Please add a Disc Golf activity and talk to Garmin teams to make sure you are talking the same language 🙂
