Add Local Legends for eMTB and other sports

I am a Strava subscriber and ride an eMTB and I cannot be a Local Legend. My mate who is not a subscriber, we ride together regularly, has plenty of Local Legends. I ride off road far more that him, but as a subscriber I do not count as a Local Legend because I ride an eMTB.

Why are there no Electric Mountain Bike Ride segment Local Legends?

Also, the PC segment search is all but useless it matches any words in the search criteria

Type in

Escalator, Eleebana, New South Wales, Australia

and results from all over the world, 300+ come up

there is only one Escalator, Eleebana, New South Wales, Australia in the world, but I cannot find it in segment search.

And how do I find an eMTB segment?

How would we know if this request will be taken seriously? Should I put this out to other Swimmers, and if so is there a link that would allow them to vote their agreement? They may not be on the Community forum.

Yes I was thinking the same @Sean_Haywood . Happy to share to various strava swimming groups if it would help.

@Jane I'd appreciate it if we could hear some feedback about why/why not strava would enact this change.

Hi Jane,

Are you monitoring this group? I have now posted in our Strava Swim Group of 465 Swimmers. Looks like some activism is required to get this taken seriously. I see Local Legends has now been extended to walking, hiking and Alpine Skiing, surely there are more swimmers on Strava than Alpine Skiers?

Hi Jane,

Similar to @Sean_Haywood 's comment, I've posted in the Strava group Swim England and had lots of support.

If there are reasons why the Local Legends stat works for Alpine Skiing but not Swimming it would be good to hear from you about it.

It seems a waste of our time joining these forums if there's no feedback.

Yes I'm a bit disappointed with strava, especially having so recently subscribed.

Happy swimming to you too! Things are starting to get colder over here so would have been doubly interesting to be able to see what numbers gain people the 'local legend' titles through different months of the year in swimming.

We must be in the same Hemisphere Ella, I'm in the UK. Almost time to either don the wettie or go indoors (or a combination fo the two!).  I've got some interest from our Outdoor Swimmer Magazine group on Strava, and have pointed them to this thread. Also, feedback from Strava Admin as follows:

I've just joined the Outdoor Swimmer Magazine group too.

I pointed people to this thread from Swim England and got plenty likes of my post but none ventured to this thread so far as I can tell. But still support seems to be there should Strava want to almost effortlessly make their platform better?

Seems like such an easy thing to add seeing all of the other local legend activity expansions that were released in April. How is this Idea still not fulfilled 6 months later? Please add this functionality.

dear strava team!

please look at the accepted activities in your challenge section. i think each ACCEPTED outdoor-activity where you can check a location and/or distance becomes worth to be also counted in local legends.  AND emtb can also be hard training and sport :))
