Bump. Would love to see this added... I'm starting to get into it and wish there was an option for it. Maybe add a weight option to help figure out the calorie burn. Thanks!
Rucking is an activity I do everyday and wish that Strava would add it to its other activities. What does it take to get Strava to add this activity? Maybe a messaging campaign on social media directed at Strava leadership.
Cuttine edge apps like WHOOP already have Rucking as an activity. Strava needs to get onboard with the latest activities.
I would like to echo this, with being in the Military this is something we need. We do a lot of weight carrying physical exercises, we call this a TAB (Tactical Advance to Battle) or army slang tabbing, which is Carrying weight of up to 55lb and we can go up to 1hr 56min for 8miles. Or 35lb for 3mile in 31 mins so on so forth. That being said we are shuffling and striding at paces of 10min/mile to 12min/mile. None of the hiking, walking or running parts capture the full data for the amount of work load we’re doing.
For those following and participating, Strava is having a reveal on YouTube today at 11:45 a.m. CT, where they will be "hosting a must-see live stream where we will introduce the future of Strava and product releases you can look forward to in the coming year."
For a group that has brought us activities such as badminton, e-biking, velomobile, sailing, roller skiing, skateboarding, pickleball, table tennis, and others, perhaps today is the day they will share with us that rucking is coming.
Well, I watched Camp Strava 2024 before they kicked us out for the Keynote Speaker (thanks, @stravamh, for that), and while they introduced some features like focusing on women, dark mode, and some map/activity data enhancements, not a word about rucking whatsoever.
They did say how much they listen to us, though, and how much they value our feedback.
Subscriptions from Pickleballers, Table Tennis Players, and eBikers must be more lucrative than from Ruckers... AllTrails does not consider rucking either. The first to do so wins my subscription, I guess.
I'll have to check it out and keep an eye on them. Thanks for the heads up.
Strava clearly pays absolutely no attention whatsoever to these ideas threads. I wonder if they even understand how far a simple response would go.
They obviously don't want my money so I'm happy to give it to somebody else even after I've been a member for about 15 years now. I will bounce the second a viable option comes along.
Hello Anthony, Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts with us. At this time, this is not available, however, this idea has been suggested in the community hub: Add Rucking as activity type You can show your support for this idea by clicking on the kudos button. This helps the idea become more visible.
Yes, please add this. Lots of exercise communities would utilize this such as Goruck and the military. Dr Peter Attia recommends rucking to his audience of 1 million+. There's enough people who would adopt Stava with this addition.
