Needs to be a way to correct the distance on best efforts.  For example, I just ran a mile on the track (a true 1609m) but it won't show up in my best efforts because my GPS recorded the distance as 1602m.  Yes, I could keep running to make sure it records the time as a mile, but that's generally not how a race works and also when I know I ran exactly 1609m I want my best effort to reflect the accurate time not an extra 7m of running time.  It's crazy I can't edit it to say distance was actually 1609m not 1602m.

Hey, there's a "correct distance" option on the website, it might work for you - give it a try:

I'll also take this as an opportunity to sneak in a link for my older feature request - to add that feature also to the mobile app:

Hello @Hayward101

Thanks for your post. It is already possible to edit best efforts.

Please refer to instructions at this link

Thanks for responding and the link. Unless I'm missing something that only allows you to edit the time. My problem is Strava recorded my mile run (on the track so am exact distance is known) as .99 miles and consequently it won't show up as a best effort in the mile because it is showing it as 7 meters short. I emailed help and they were able to get it recorded as a best effort for the mile but can't change the distance showing .99.

Hello @Hayward101

I understand. There are a couple of other ways to address this. Did you try the "correct distance" option mentioned by @Jana_S ? If not, If this happens again, I would definitely give that a try, as it may resolve the issue:

In some situations you can change the distance that is shown for your activity. Changing the distance stream may also update the pace or duration of an activity. If your device created a distance stream using sensors such as a speed sensor, pedometer, or accelerometer, you can switch your distance on Strava to use GPS data rather than the generated distance stream.

To swap your distance stream:

  • Go to your activity page on the website (this feature is currently not accessible in our mobile apps)
  • From the activity page click on (◦◦◦) the more options menu > Correct Distance.
  • From the pop-up, click "Correct Distance".
  • When the status changes from "Calculating" to "Updated," refresh the page.

If you would like to revert the change, you can click the same link and click "Revert Distance".

If you still don't see the 1 mile best effort appearing after that, you could submit a support ticket which is sounds like you've already done and had the best effort added. You're correct, the distance can't be edited.

I would encourage you to check out this Feature suggestion related to editing distance and time on recorded activities.  We would welcome your vote and any comments you might like to add.
