It would be nice to show elevation loss next to elevation gain in the activity summary. The data is already there and is valuable to bikepackers and other point to point riders. Thanks!

This is a very important basic feature. I was very surprised to find that after my long hike from the Grand Canyon North Rim down to the valley with 6000ft elevation loss, Strava only reported 300ft elevation gain in the summary. The next level click down has the elevation loss data already, but we need it in the summary.

Add the stat of vertical decent to a mountain bike ride not just ascent. Many bike rides can be shuttles or bike park days that have more vertical loss than gain. The sport could be downhill mountain biking and you could use the same algorithms you use for alpine skiing that weed out lift rides, as applicable, so they don’t count toward mileage and vertical gain. Currently you have to pause the activity.
