Under the iFit integration settings in iOS, there is the following text under disable: "Turn off enhancements for activities from this partner."

This suggests to me that I might be able to add elevation data to a treadmill run recorded on my watch, for instance.

Instead, I end up with 2 different activities uploaded to Strava (the other being from Garmin). Is it possible to have an iFit activity "enhance" an uploaded Garmin activity? Maybe it's only possible to enhance activities recorded directly in the Strava app?

Garmin records certain metrics that my treadmill does not, while the treadmill has more accurate distance and speed, as well as elevation gain and loss that my watch won't record at all. It would be great if Strava could at least fill in metrics that are missing from one source to the other, if not assert which are likely to be more accurate when the same metric differs between the two.

It would be very great if I could pick which source to use for each metric and save that for a workout type with the option to modify individual workouts should there be some difference compared to normal.

Great idea! Same problems with me as I finished virtual ride on Zwift and recorded on Garmin Connect. I have to delete duplicate rides everytime which is annoying.

Yes, this.

Does GOTOES allow you add additional data?

Is it an App or a website?

If it does then this could answer another thread related to a request for a Spin bike category that can also add extra fields such as distance alongside the heart rate and time that comes from an Apple Watch.
Thanks

Bryan

Hi All,

An update from me; I did some checks on GOTOES.

It is a website (not an app) but seems to work fine on a iPhone.
It does allow you to both merge files and add extra data fields to an activity.
However, to enable the functionality needed to add fields you need to make a donation to the operator, it’s a $10 donation which does not seem excessive, but is a fee over above a likely Strava subscription.
All in all, I continue to hope Strava will create the features that this tool is offering or perhaps just offer the tool to subscribers as they do with other integrations.  That could be a win-win for everyone as it would not mean creating new code and would recognise what GOTOES have done and built.

In response to BryanC’s comment: GOTOES is 100% free for all data fields that Strava displays. That includes Power, heart rate, cadence, temperature, speed, map… it’s all free. The donation only applies to esoteric fields not shown on Strava like left right pedal balance or muscle oxygen saturation 😆. But if you can afford to buy one of these devices, you can afford a one time donation to help with the (surprisingly high) ongoing costs of paying for the server. Hope that helps everyone!

To be clear, the comments I made applied to adding missing data, such as distance during spin cycling.
For this you have to make the donation (pay the fee).
I hope this clears the confusion
