Hello @MoK thanks for sharing this. Auto-Pause currently exists for ride/run activities on Pixel/Android watches using Wear OS 3 using the Strava Watch App. To enable this functionality go to Settings and scroll down to Auto Pause to enable it. If you're having trouble with this, please submit a support ticket and we’ll be happy to investigate further.
Hey @mstevens you should be able to enable the auto pause function on your Pixel Watch -- we've seen some instances in which the size of the font has pushed some settings off-screen, so if you could perhaps take a screenshot and submit a support ticket we can look into this for you.
After digging a bit further, I'd like to clarify that The Google Pixel Watch does not currently have the ability to auto-stop or auto-pause. This is a limitation on the device itself. We appreciate your feedback as we continue to have conversations with Google. That being said, Strava will automatically calculate your moving and resting time during the upload process instead of during the activity. Regardless if auto-pause was enabled. In general, for Runs with auto-pause disabled, we will do server-side resting time calculations (per above) unless there are manual pause events. If there are manual pause events, we assume that you want to control the time and will calculate moving time with respect to timer time instead.
Thank you for looking deeper and following up on this @Soren I hope Google can enable the right hardware events via software to enable this in the future.
I would really like to pause my runs so that I have accurate realtime data while on a run. Without pausing, avg speed becomes a useless realtime metric. To support better manual pausing, please consider voting or commenting on [ this idea ] . @MoK@subie@pilkingk
