why does this feature use standard maps? Usually it uses satellite maps. Is there a solution for this? 

Hello everyone, I have two cool suggestions for the app.The first one would be the ability to add music to your activity on Strava. When someone passes by, the music would play, which would be fun and could set a rhythm for others to follow during your activity.The second suggestion is about the reporting of an activity in a segment.My suggestion is to add a new reporting option, which would be "Suggest activity change." For example, I’ve noticed that many cyclists don’t know how to switch from the running mode to cycling, so they end up receiving several reports that can negatively impact their account. In this case, if the person didn’t know how to change it, the report would prompt them with the option "Was your activity a run or a ride?" This way, they could change it without any issues.

Implement the ability for an athlete to see their personal records for each individual bike in their profile. I have a lightweight road bike and a heavier gravel bike. I am never going to be able to beat a PR up a steep climb that I have set on my road bike when riding on my heavier gravel bike but that doesn't mean a particular effort on my gravel bike is less of an achievement than on my road bike. It would be good to see separate PRs for each bike in your profile.

Strava has great volumes of activity data uploaded by athletes, and should be able to use that data to calculate / predict race results. There are some simple online calculators, but not very accurate. Strava might take into consideration the following (but not limited to):previous race resultsathlete's recent training volume / mileage, and other parameters of the training quality (speed sessions etc)for long distances (e.g a marathon), also percentage of sufficiently long runs athlete's attributes such as gender, age, weight (there's already an existing feature request to sync this), VO2max (dtto)and if a prediction turns out to be off, use that to adjust future predictions accordingly Athletes should be able to get their predictions for any distance (the feature can include the most usual distances by default but let's not limit to those, people should be able to add custom

The suggestion is to add an opportunity to customize split size/length.The use case is interval training, running, or cycling. For this type of training, 5min splits don't suit well, as the split times are not representative. It would be nice to be able to set a pattern of splits. The pattern can be based on time and/or distance. Whenever users start training, they can select a split pattern they want to apply.The simplest solution is adding a text field, describing a pattern of intervals by some documented syntax.Examples:5min;((1min;40sec)*5)2min)*3;4min - this pattern describes 5min warm up, the 3 sets separated by 2min slow tempo, each set contains 5 intervals separated by 40sec slow tempo. Unfortunately my results are no longer improving, rather the opposite. Instead of constantly being reminded of my personal best years ago, it would be more motivated of being told on the analysis page that this was my fastest 5K logged this quarter etc... 

Please add a flagging button to the phone app, not just the desktop.   

I find the components feature really useful to track wear on bicycle parts. Why not include an option for each component to trigger a reminder when a certain mileage is reached on a component? Perhaps it was realizing that I have 3,600 miles on my rear MTB cassette (new one ordered) that made me think of this.You could remind yourself to check the chain after 1,000 miles, etc.

I'd like to have an option to set elevation gain to zero on an activity manually. Currently, Strava uses either the device's data or map data. But if both is wrong, there's no way to get meaningful data on the activity.Typical example - run on a track. Flat as a pancake, but (especially if it's a longer run), it produces some surprising elevation gain numbers. Perhaps because of the arms swing... or because of a hilly area (despite the track is really absolutely flat).A simple zeroing button/checkbox could be a great solution.  

How about adding heart rate average or a view that shows over a period of time? this way you could look at your average HR from last month or last year

I am not a runner and am only walking currently. Each week I am walking between 40-80 miles and I would like the statistics category to include those numbers for members that only walk and don't run. Right now they only have biking, running and swimming. Would be great for others to see your stats.

I'd like to see the option for Gear that you can see each piece by year and the total distance and total time for each bike/shoe/etc. So for an example, you can currently see the distance this year, but I cannot see how that compares to last year for a particular bike unless I wrote down the number at the end of the year. This could simply be a drop down option or table view.I'd like to see this go further then for end of year stats so I can see how much was on a particular mountain bike. Many ppl have several bikes. Maybe an enduro bike vs a xc bike vs a fat bike yet they are all summed up under Mountain Bike.I'd also like to suggest that year end statistics should not come out until December 31. I have no idea why the year end stats are released near the start of December when there's a full month of activity to complete. I realize this is a social media app but I like to think many use it to track time, distance, progress, etc. No need to share the video prematurely

Hi all. I had a Fredericson grade 4 b Tibia stress fracture and was in moon boot and crutches for 6 weeks. I got cleared to start walking again this week. Only 3km every second day. Any advice on warming up before walking? Thanks!!!

If you are managing a Club there is a dedicated field for the website, but that does nothing! As we are a club that is also quite active outside of Strava, there should be the possibility to Link to that website. (You also remove all links posted in the text)If Strava wants to be a social hub, there needs to be a way to link to the outside, at least for a Club. This gets quite frustrating in addition to other changes that worsened the experience!

I wanted to click on an About | Explore | Follow | Help | More link on the website but instead it keeps on refreshing the activity feed making this longer instead.The desired behaviour I would expect is:If I scroll in the activity feed, I want to see more activities. If I scroll outside the activity feed, I want to view the whole Strava website around the activityu feed. I am using Google Chrome browser 131.0.6778.71 (Official Build) (64-bit) on Win 11. 

I find the fitness trend tracker really frustrating. As far as I can tell it makes an assumption that every day you don't log something in Strava, your fitness declines by x% and also makes assumptions about the incremental fitness you gain from each activity. Given that not everything I do is logged on Strava (shocking, I know) this is totally inaccurate. However, you have all the data you need to work out actual fitness, as, over time, I will do similar workouts, at similar levels of effort and you have all my HR data.  For example, if I do a 5k run in September at a certain speed and HR, and then I do the same run (or similar) 4 months later at the same HR but faster, you know my fitness has increased. You must be able to build an algorithm that calculates some index of fitness by comparing my HR, relative effort, speed etc etc, regardless of how many sessions I have actually logged.

Anyone else experiencing an abundance of notifictions for friends completing workouts and runs? Just started about 15 minutes ago. I already have notifications enabled for a few of my favorites, but it’s other connections showing up- and not the “Jane has uploaded her first run in a while, give her kudos!” These are regular people. I didn’t see anything changed in my push notification settings but it is already getting super annoying! UPDATE FROM STRAVA:

I like achievements concept at Strava. One thing is how you have improved a performance. But something the biggest achievement is actually that I managed to do the training - simply because the motivation is low.So my idea is to have make "achievement" called "You did it" (naming is open for better suggestions) where you can identify a session as a session were you did "beat" the motivation and can celebrate that you did the effort - even though you were not motivated.

Activity filter Indoor training should be one of the options!

Obstacle Course Running is a distinct activity type, different from simply running or in-place cardio/lifting. GPS tracking is an essential aspect of obstacle running, but using a standard run / trail run activity to track obstacle running leads to an inflation of running paces that does not account for the work done on obstacles. This results in the appearance of slow paces and innaccurate intepretations of fitness by Strava. Plenty of athletes in the Crossfit, Spartan Racing, Hyrox, and general fitness space implement running with resistance-style and obstacle-style movements in racing as well as training. Even Garmin includes an “Obstacle Racing” activity. Furthermore, the obstacle course community is full of racers who use Strava on to track their workouts regularly. Such an activity/feature does not need to be complex in its activity breakdown. Be able to flag segments themselves, not individuals. There is at least one segment in Boulder that shows a faster time than the splits for that segment. Attached is what I’m referring to. It says my pace was in the 8s, but if you look at my miles 4, 5, and 6—which were part of the segment—they were in the 10s and 9s. This issue isn’t unique to my run; in fact, it affects everyone who has completed the segment.

Hello, I am a french riderFirst of all thank you for your great work. I love this application. I have been practicing electric mountain biking for some time. However, I notice that electric mountain biking activities are not counted as cycling activities, especially for the difference in altitude. They are classified in other activities. Would it be possible to classify these activities as cycling activities? thank you
