activity manage due to wrong distance

Hello, I ran a marathon yesterday and I accidentally set the activity on my watch to "treadmill running" instead of "running". Now I don’t have the right activity on my Strava and I’d like to know if it is possible if I can import activity manually if I have the GPX of the course and also I know my splits and total time. Can I edit the current activity or I delete this one and add new?

Creating a paved route on Android isn't working properly

For me this is an old problem but now after a week on Gran Canaria IT was really bad. I use my phone (Android latest version) to create routes just so that I doesn't have to bring my computer on the vacation. The suggestion routes (based on other cyklist) from Strava are often boring and nothing new so I use to create my routes by my own from point A to B to C... and further. I've chosen the setting Road before I start create. I assume that Strava then should pick paved routes between my points but as it happens, it doesn't. It is difficult to check the chosen route on the map though Iit doesn't tell if it is a paced road, a gravel, a trail or even a walking path. Suddenly, out riding the route Strava wants me to get on a trail or a walk path over a mountain. This happens all the time. It's really annoying because I have to stop, check Google maps and the continue. Is there any update coming for this problem or is it a setting?. I've tried to use and not use heatmap. Is there a limit of routes i can embed to a website?

Hello, I’m making a website for my local community to share all the routes in my area in one place. For doing that, I use the route integration with the <HTML> code. I was just wondering if there is a limit of routes that can be integrated from an account? I would not like my accound to be suspended for that :) Thank you,

Promotion of my API app

Hey! i built another map generating website, which integrates the strava api. My question is, how i get it promoted like others here: https://www.strava.com/apps/visualizer Website is: https://mapprints.de You can easily build custom maps there and plot activities onto it. It differs to others, because its truely customizable. To use it, you need to register (eg via google). Its required to keep bots away, generating load on the backend. Thanks!

API answer changed: average_heartrate and max_heartrate are missing (amongst others)

I use an R script to retrieve my personal activity data from Strava using the API. ClubAthlete does not include Athlete ID

This model won't include any athlete identifier, which makes the information a bit useless in the end. Since APIs are made for machines, and machines identify entities differences between IDs, not having them on the returned models make them invaluable. It would be nice if ClubAthlete had the athlete ID included within its definition. This way, apps for clubs, built on top of the Strava API, can easily map and identify the athletes. Otherwise this is impossible, as there's no other way of identifying athletes related somehow to another one who granted access to the app.

Calories shown in Strava app are different from calories retrieved using the Strava API

Hello, Recently, I built an app using the Strava API to automatically retrieve my activity data and store them in a database. I noticed that, using the “https://www.strava.com/api/v3/athlete/activities” API endpoint retrieves the calories as kilojoules, for example “"kilojoules": 637.0”. The calories shown in my Strava account are shown in calories units. Based on the same activity of the above example, I see in my account the value of 427 Cal. However, 637.0 kilojoules are 152.2 calories - that is, a very different number from 427 Cal shown in my account. I wanted to ask if I am missing any other conversion steps or how exactly are Calories calculated in the application but are different from the API? How can I transform the 637 kilojoules to the number that I am seeing in my account? Thank you very much for your help in advance. Best, Panos

Is there an option to get Club events via Strava API?

It looks like that there is no such option. But I think it may be a great addition for any club to have an option to least events on their website/app and even have a button for people to join their events. Could propel event usage a lot and improve quite a few metrics. Totally separate thing but another missing feature from user's perspective is to join Repeated events. With two options: Join this event and all following events, join only this this event. The same for leaving the events. Both these features will increase Event-related metrics drastically

How do get only active calories from Garmin into Strava

How do I get active calories from Garmin Connect when syncing rides to Strava? I’m getting total calories from GC which is active plus basal calories. Other apps report/use active calories, not total. I did some searching having found this being resolved. Has it been?

Widget jQuery Errors

I’m the developer/webmaster for my local cycling club’s website. We have Strava widgets embedded, which display correctly, but they’re throwing the following console error: Uncaught ReferenceError: jQuery is not defined You can see the error (in the browser console) on our homepage: https://sdbc.org The issue seems to be with the Activity and Summary iFrame widgets - the Route widget (which uses a JavaScript include) doesn’t throw any errors. Is there a solution for this? Or any plans to replace the iFrame widgets with JavaScript includes?

Generating API using Swagger ignores allOf when generating model objects

Hi, I'm running the command: swagger-codegen generate -i https://developers.strava.com/swagger/swagger.json -l swift5 The DetailedActivity does not contain any of the SummaryActivity as described by the allOf section in https://developers.strava.com/swagger/activity.json#/DetailedActivity. I've tried using version 3.0.41 and 2.4.30 A quick search indicated that it is a swagger bug? Am I missing something here? Thanks Antz

How do I get the Strava client APIs generated?

Export TCX for activity with api

Hello! I am looking for a way to retrieve TCX file of activities with the API. I can get TCX for routes but can’t find a way to get the file for activities. I can get it easily using this way : https://support.strava.com/hc/en-us/articles/216918437-Exporting-your-Data-and-Bulk-Export#h_01GDP2C5E3278KM8MPK5X49ED3 “This is a little-known trick, however, it's simple to use. Simply add "/export_tcx" - without quotes - to the end of your activity page URL. For example, if your activity page is www.strava.com/activities/2865391236 - just add the text to give you www.strava.com/activities/2865391236/export_tcx and hit enter. This will download a TCX version of your file to the location specified by your browser's preferences” But no luck with API. Can anyone help? Thanks!

command line tool and increase number of athletes

Our bicycle club has authored a command line tool that connects to the Strava API to download an athletes ride data so we can establish metrics for ride difficulty in our region. However we just realized it won’t work because the number of athletes allowed to connect is only 1. To increase the limit we have to submit an application review form. However we just noticed the Strava API Agreement demands the app have some sort of GUI (Graphical User Interface) so that logos can be displayed. But a command line tool can’t display logos. Does that mean command line tools are prohibited from using the API? How do we get around this problem?

How to get the calories on CSV?

I’m exporting my Strava activities to a CSV with a Python script and for some reason, everything shows up perfectly except for the calories burnt. My weight is entered on Strava and I have tried a few different scripts but to no avail. Calories just don’t show up on my CSV no matter how I write, even though they do appear on my profile. Has anyone else encountered this? I looked up online but couldn't find anything, I don’t know if it’s a Strava issue or I just can’t seem to find the right script to write. Thanks!

Beginner question: How to get the authorizationcode programmatically?

I'm trying to authorize myself to use the strava API. I managed to get an access token and specifying the scopes. In order to be able to write data to one of my activities I need to pass in an authorization code (with the great help of ​@Jan_Mantau). invalid token exchange authorization codes?

So 99% of the time my token exchange process works just fine, but occasionally Strava responds with a "Bad Request" message. I've confirmed that each authorization request is accepted, and I receive a query string formatted as expected, looking like: "code":"012345ab6c7d89e48d7e92a0e381024deb1f0a7b","scope":"activity:read_all,activity:write,profile:read_all,read,read_all" but occasionally the POST call to https://www.strava.com/oauth/token receives this response: { "message":"Bad Request", "errors": [{ "resource":"AuthorizationCode", "field":"code", "code":"invalid" }]} This issue is so intermittent that I can't reproduce it, but I'm sure I only try to use the short-lived code once... Any ideas what might be going wrong?

Same athlete twice on segments

I've noticed recently that on some segments there are some athletes that have two efforts shown, from different years (one example looks like this: 1.A in 2021 2.B in 2021 3.B in 2020 4.A in 2020 ... 9.C in 2021 10.D 11.C in 2018). The rides are not marked different (ride/mtb ride) and the profiles are the same (same url). Anyone knows what this is about?

Map Display Issues Following Major Layout Updates

Hello, while I’m aware that many users have probably already reported issues related to the recent layout changes in the mobile app's map, I’d like to share a few specific observations: POIs (Points of Interest) Fences North Orientation Indicator Previously, all three were always visible on the map for saved activities. Now, they seem to be turned off by default but do appear when I start recording a new activity. These changes noticeably affect the overall user experience. I’m not sure if they are bugs or intentional design decisions, but I wanted to share my feedback and ask if this behavior is intended or if it could be improved.

Invalid Authorization Code After 1 Use

I was trying to develop my code (in Python) to gather my club's data for a data science course project. The issue I have is that I'm learning that once I run the request using the authorization code one time, the second time won't work. Even if I get my access and refresh token, running the code in the main will end up running the function to use the authorization code so it'll become invalid and the code won't run. How do I solve this? Here is a picture to show what I mean:
