I used to use Run Keeper which allowed me to set audio cues based on distance AND time.  I tend to run based on time rather than distance, so I like to get a call out every 5min and at every Mile.

I could adjust to getting cues every half mile instead, but the real deal breaker is that it doesn't seem like I can get ANY audio cues on my Wear OS device (Pixel Watch GPS+LTE).  It only has cues for start/stop/pause...which is pretty much totally useless...

This is the only feature i miss when switching from Runkeeper to Strava. Would be really nice to have it working on my Samsung Watch as well.

Hopefully added sometime soon. Audio cues would be a welcomed change to my running regiment.

Anyone looking at this comment that hasn't given this a thumbs up at the top of the thread - please do.

Hello, i just bought the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 classic with Wear OS and i love it to run without my phone in the pocket. But what's my surprise? There is no audio guidance/coaching??? How is this so?? One of the most valuable things you want in a running app while running!!!

Hello, are the people from Strava reading here? I think it is very bad that there is no audio cue option on the Strava Wear OS app. As a runner, i would like to hear my status regarding speed/distance/heart rate, etc., for example every km. How is it possible that a basic function such as audio cue is not included in the app? I really don't understand that at all...

@JanWesterman I think sadly they are not, very disappointing.

Yes please - I used this feature all the time on MapmyRun/Ride. Audio cues for distance, time and maybe average speed.

I just got a Pixel Watch 2, and I'm really surprised and disappointed that there are no mile/km audio cues!

Please add this feature - it could just be a MVP to begin with, just calling out each mile and km, then you could add more functionality later.

Come on Strava…. This audio coach idea was submitted 14 months ago.  This is a no brainer.  Strava needs an audio coach desperately for us runners. I could easily increase my 5K times if I knew my tempo/pace and distance, without looking at my phone.   Take a note from Run Keeper and mimick their Audio coach.  If you want to be the best… Strava needs to add this soon.

Jumping in late in 2024, but still relevantly it would seem. I used RunKeeper for years; I paid for their training plan one year, the other years I used the app for free. Even when I used the app for free, customizable audio cues based on distance or time were standard. The training plan on RunKeeper enabled me to receive cues dictating pace changes throughout a run. I moved to Strava for two reasons: I was told it is the best running app and for Wear OS functionality - I, too, would rather run without my phone. The Strava audio cues on the phone are basic - they don't do what RunKeeper did for me, i.e. "Increase your pace to xx km/h" once I've reached a certain point in my run - and on my Pixel Watch the cues are non-existent. I am disappointed. I paid for a year of Strava's plan kind of expecting the aforementioned functionality. Shame on me, I guess, for not having looked into it ahead of time. If those cues don't become available on the watch soon, I'm certainly not paying for another year.

Again, it's a shame that a app like Strave don't have cue on the wear OS app. I simply cannot understand it. So for now I did skip Strava while running. I simply need a voice coach while running and I reject to take my phone with me. So Samsung healts's build in running app it is for now.

Shame on you Strava!

How has this not been added yet? This is such a small but important fix.

How has this still not been addressed after all this time?? Please may you consider implementing audio cues for splits/segments on the WearOS Strava app.

@Soren how many kudos does this need before it's then moved into the next phase of the process?
