It can’t be that difficult to open the app to more activities. I know horse riding is a big part of the strava community. Making this happen will put a smile on a lot of people’s faces.
Apple Watch has an equestrian feature. I would love to be able to track my rides on multiple different horses. I don’t understand the comments on how it would pollute since it would be its own category. I do like the comment of breaking it down into cross country and arena based. I have recently started riding bikes, but have been riding horses for years. It’s a sport just like all the rest but it is not looked upon in the same regard as most sports. And it would clarify the problems with people using the MTB option.
100% agree, this would be a great addition to the activities catalogue! the leg, arm, and core workout you get from riding is insane, especially when you factor in the range of horsetivities — jumping, xcx, barrel racing, endurance, etc...
Absolutely! When considering not only horse riding, but also more sports, a Strava for Equestrian Sports would be created : ) We are commenting on a post from 2022. It seems a bit absurd to me that Strava hasn't done anything about it yet.
I don't know why Strava seem so adverse to adding equestrian activities.
My suggestions would be riding and carriage driving. I love tracking my rides and drives and looking at the stats. I currently, along with lots of other people it seems, use the bicycle option, this must mess with the league tables!
04/24 now and I still don't see horseback riding on my strava app on Android. Strava, please add this feature in whatever shape or form so that we don't pollute the data from other activities.
Could Strava please confirm that they are considering the many requests to include Equestrian activities on Strava? You are potentially missing out on millions of users (& their subscriptions), that at the moment are either not using Strava or are masquerading as other user groups as they don't have their own. Contrary to popular belief horse riding is a very strenous activityfor the rider as well as the horse, just as carriage driving needs strong core muscles just to stay on the carriage. It seems you have included mobility scooters, (my dad has one as he is severely disabled and the only effort required is his right hand on the accelerator/brake)!
It really doesnt make sense to discriminate against a group of sports people in this way.
Could you please reply so at least we know if someone actually reads these ideas & your reasoning for excluding such a large user group?
