Can rucking be added to list of activities/sport. It’s not the same as walking or hiking 🙂 thanks!

So this tells me that since they are not even acknowledging the ask, rucking is not a priority, but apparently "velomobile," "table tennis," and "E-bike ride" (seriously, an electric bike ride) are.

I received the same message.  So if they truly are reading, they aren't responding on purpose.  That's a slap in the face to users.

I work in social media for a company, and there is no way we'd let a discussiin this long go witjout responding.

It would be awesome to have a “Ruck” activity (weighted hike) you can enter the weight you hiked with into your stats, and have “CRs” etc as well. I think there’s a large community that uses Strava on out weighted hikes/rucks and the feature would be used all the time

Gotta love the cut and paste response from Strava.

It's sort of like the message on every support phone line that, regardless of time or day of the week, continually says "we are experiencing higher than normal call volume" - well if that volume happens every second of every day then that IS the normal call volume and you need to hire some people.

Rant concluded.

Please pull your finger out Strava.

Thank you to everyone who is advocating on my thread for this to happen! I’m hoping our persistence pays off. I’m about to drop my paid membership when it expires if Strava doesn’t step up, as the app is useless to me otherwise.

Absolutely, Spiffy.  I'll be joining you in dropping my subscription when it runs out unless they add this feature.  I'm not going to pay to support an organization that can't be bothered to acknowledge this community.

Rucking is a fast growing sport/fitness activity. Very popular. Please ass widget to put weight on activities such as hiking and biking. Most importantly for hiking/rucking.

Not that anything seems to matter to them, but I also shared my complaint with a Play Store rating of 1 ️ for Strava with detailed reasoning.

Yes,  I do a lot of rucking and is hard to track it with Strava without a proper assigment. I hope they will add it on the sports list.

Latest from Strava:

Thanks for the follow up. The community hub team is reviewing the processes for that platform and they hope to provide more updates to the open posts in the upcoming months.

We appreciate your patience in the meantime.

I love this thread. Strava could add this in a single update and satisfy this significant, growing and active community. We'd all love to have better metrics for carrying weight. That's a no-brainer add-on for nearly every activity type. Strava should just make it a default.

I agree 100%, Tim1.  While I appreciate all of Strava's bells and whistles in the paid membership, I am looking for a specific ask.  It's not that Strava doesn't have it currently that is the problem.  They refuse to engage with us and the thread to let us know we are being heard.  It's like they don't care at all, and that is the problem.

@stravamh Where are we on adding "Ruck" as a category that includes the ability to add the weight we are carrying so we can accurately track our workouts?  Y'all can make e-bikes, pickleball, and virtual events, so why not rucking?
