It should be able to select which activities will sync from 3rd party apps. For example if one is riding on Zwift, and still uses a Garmin device to record the activity for other than Strava reasons, after the ride, both Zwift and Garmin Connect are currently synching and one has to ALWAYS delete Garmin activity manually. I bet that not all want to sync all activities from connected apps. In this case i'd turn off Garmin Connect sync for Indoor Cycling.

Thank you

Ditto. Please sort this out. Just switched over from Apple Watch which does allow this. Gotta be honest not impressed with garmin but need the longer battery life. Sort it out

I just want to be able to select which types of activities get automatically uploaded. I track all of my walks, runs and bike rides, yoga sessions and workouts and I really only want to use Strava for runs and bike rides.

I concur. I want to be able to post runs and rides to Strava, but don’t think friends care to see my walks, yoga, and meditating activities, which I also record through Garmin for my own metrics.

Same here. I only want my rides (road/mtb/gravel) and runs to be sync, not all the other activities like gym and casual walks etc.

I just joined this community so I could add kudos to this post. Please consider adding this functionality.

Same here. Strava is for endurace sports, I don't want to sync my yoga and crossfit, but i'm still tracking them with my Garmin, and now I have to hide them manually. It would be great to select which categories sync and which ones don't.

There is actually a nice fix to this (or call it workaround until / if garmin and strava react to this thread): in Strava, set activities' visibility to private by default. Then, when you have done a run / ride and feel like it, edit the run / ride and set it to public. You are probably editing the title anyway so this is just one small click. I like this more than "having to" open strava quickly and delete an activity.

I agree completely. I have recently started doing the guided breathing exercises on my Garmin watch (really good by the way!)...but it immediately uploads them to Strava as a "Workout" 😂

It's a race to get to Strava and quickly delete it every time! I'm not sure that my ego can take any more of my friends thinking that I've done a 5-10 minute gym session with an average HR of 80bpm 😂

+1

likely to withdraw aggregated data set and locking my privacy to private if the sync is oversharing activities. if it gets too annoying, i rather stick with garmin connect than a 3rd party app! Strava is for running, listen to your running community!

Agree - nobody wants to see my workouts, I would like to synch running and cycling activities only

Would love to pick which activities to upload like I could on my Apple Watch

+ 1 , this would be really great, just had my watch run out of battery so synced cycle computer for a ride hoping I’d have the same option as from apple workout app to select the single ride I wanted, but then had to go through heaps of duplicates deleting!

Agreed this would be great, doesn't seem very difficult to implement either.

I would really like this feature as well as I don't want to spam people with irrelevant activities, but I value automatic syncing. One thing to consider is that per activity type privacy settings would also solve this issue. It would allow you to track casual exercise like neighborhood walks while keeping them private by default. More granular privacy settings and more granular sync settings aren't mutually exclusive and it would be great to have both as they solve different issues for different people, while both improving automatic syncing.
