I think it is important to have an Athlete Dashboard that shows a holistic view of an athlete's fitness based on the three pillars of fitness: exercise, nutrition and recovery.
This is important because:
- Fitness is not only about activity
- Nutrition is necessary for great performance - if Strava syncs with MyFitnessPal, Zero, Lumen, or Noom, Strava can gather more information about how an athlete is recovering after working out.
- If the athlete is not eating enough, then they are not fueling for optimal level of performance
- If the athlete is not sleeping enough, then they are not recovering for optimal level of performance
- If the athlete is overtraining a specific muscle group and avoiding another muscle group, then they can get injured through imbalances.
- Athletes can select their primary sport (i.e. running) which gives them more personalized feedback on exercise, muscle groups, eating for performance and sleep
Currently, I use Garmin Connect to track my sleep and Zero to track my fasts. I have used MyFitnessPal and Apple Health in the past.
