Creating tags for races and events

It'd be great if athlets competing in races (eg. international marathons as well as local racing events) could flag the activity as race and tag the specific race in order to find and see all the athlets that competed in the same race. Also, it'd be great if racing events were researchable to find routes, altimetries and such.
