for individual segment efforts, it would be good to have a distribution histogram of this_effort + best_effort values within the overall recorded efforts for that segment. this could be visual or based on percentile ranges.

another interesting metric would be the overall popularity or frequency of use.

@kfulke On the segment web site you have such a chart.

@Jan_Mantaudo you have an example link? i don't see a distribution curve or any of the other calculated metrics i described on the segment pages.

@kfulke This is in every segment where you rode. A concrete example link wouldn't help because I don't know segments you were on but in general the URL is  https://www.strava.com/segments/{segmentid} and the chart with the distribution of segment times looks this way:

that's a time-series plot of results, not a distribution curve. and it's only for one user.

what i'm meaning is a bell curve made composed of all published times on the segment, with the users best time differentiated from other results. to show where in the curve they are, and how many other people have a similar time-weighting.

once the formula for this is decided-upon, it could be nice to have it as a hover-hilight in the segment listing table of an activity, next to the users segment result icon.
