Do not display elevation gain for water sports activities (for example kite surfing)

Water sports (kitesurfing, surfing, presumably others...) show elevation gain as if I am riding up and down the ocean floor. This is useless (false) and clutters the interface. Can it be removed?

I see it on the browser interface, not app (android).

@Jane this is less of an idea suggestion than a bug report. 

It is not relevant to report elevation gain for an activity that is by definition constrained to a flat plane (the surface of the water). Furthermore, the elevation gain reported is incorrect, as it uses ocean floor bathymetry - I don't kitesuring, surfing, sailing, do not happen on the ocean floor.
