Global Heat map link on main Strava website

I may be missing it- but I feel it would be very useful to have a link within the Strava website to the u

global rather than just the personal heat map.

I find the heat map very useful to find new routes to explore particularly when going to a new area. But it seems I can only find the global heat map from a google search rather than from within the Strava normal website which only seems to link to my personal heat map- am I missing something? If not, could this feature be added?

If you go to "Create a Route" (top right menu item on the website) there is an option to display a global heatmap.  I have found this quite useful to get ideas for routes - there have been quite a few instances where a map indicates no sensible way through on a bike yet the heatmap shows many people have been that way.  The corollary is also true - I have seen what looks a good road on the map but with no heatmap activity (presumably because it is a private road, or other similar restriction)

Agree that a link in the front matter of the website or app would be useful.

Thanks for submitting your idea. It has been reviewed by our moderation team and is now open to voting. As @Ian pointed out, you can see an overlay of the global heatmap when creating a route and you can also toggle the global heatmap on when recording an activity.
