With Parkrun and their recent decision not to have results anyone can look at, I propose a user allocated time specifically for the Parkrun event. It would give Parkrunners a way onto Strava, especially if promoted at the event, like an opt in of the data Parkrun decided to remove. It would be active only for Saturday Mornings and only allow a running distance of up to 6km's to be recorded for the hour of the event. As a Premium user of Strava it could also make the segment data more complete and be motivational to since people arguing themselves go up the leaderboard. If Parkrun was open to the idea of Strava offering this for Parkrunners with the idea of opt-in comparative performance data, as a type of non monetary supporter of the event I can only see it as a win-win for the current Parkrun situation! 😁

Just to note, parkrun results remain visible to anyone via each parkrun’s website. They’ve removed course records split by age and **bleep** (a pretty disappointing step), but each week’s results are for now untouched.

[EDIT - good lord, we can’t write the correct word for the distinction between male and female. Context-related filtering is possible, Strava mods.]

In the UK, and many other countries, parkrun is a massive movement. The courses are 5K and people push for PB's in the weekly event. But the courses rarely measure as 5Kon strava, often coming up short because of trees etc. This means that the parkruns rarely feature in Strava "Best Efforts".

By adding this "parkrun" as an option in the "type of run category", personal stats could then reflect "parkrun" best efforts. I think people will love this feature. It will give an indication of good race times that are chased on a weekly basis but rarely log as 5K PB's!

Personal stats can then show "Best Efforts" half marathon PR, 10K PR, 5K PR, and parkrun PR's.

Please can I have a nice reward if this is accepted, TIA
