Australia grapples with a notable issue of Magpie swooping incidents involving cyclists during the spring season, leading to potential injuries and raising genuine concerns. I suggest harnessing available data to establish a Strava alert system that notifies cyclists as they approach these risky zones. I'm willing to collaborate with the development team to facilitate this endeavour.

Hey Bryant, I'm grateful for your message. I suggest leveraging the data from https://www.magpiealert.com/ to improve Strava's alert system. This feature would inform cyclists when they're approaching areas where Magpies are prone to swoop dangerously. While we can't prevent the Magpie swooping, it can provide cyclists with the choice to either avoid the area or be aware that swooping is likely to occur.

This is a great idea!
Given the annual swoop count, any magpie alert system has my support!👍🏼

This probably sounds ridiculous to non-Australians, but practically every regular cyclist in Australia has a magpie swooping story. It's an experience I've had and would like to avoid in the future 🙂
