Has the team explored the idea of tracking entire amateur soccer games?

Soccer fans have become very data/stats literate over the last 10 years watching and analysing their favourite professional teams or playing video games like FIFA.

But the price point for professional soccer tracking equipment remains high while more amateur/hobby level equipment is tailored to cycling or running.

Could Strava partner with some local teams to put together and test out an offering that presents data collected from wearables each player might already own? Or test out trackers in the ball or each players boot -

Could Strava give amateur coaches a competitive advantage for a lower price point? Perhaps the team pays a subscription and gets a team portal?

It could be fun if Strava partnered with some professional teams or coaches who could review team data if the team paid a higher subscription.

Football is a collective sport so while useful, tracking heatmap or distance of an individual is useful it doesn’t really tell full story of they played in the game. You need to see how your data relates to everything else that happened and at different times in the game.

Strava could even turn the product research effort into a mini documentary, PMs and engineers shadowing a team over the course of a season.
