Please add jumping rope / Jump Rope as a supported sport

Jumping rope is not just a warmup it is a great sport and activity in itself. There are even official organizations such as the Amateur Athletic Union with long established rules and regulations https://image.aausports.org/handbooks/jump_rope/JumpRope.pdf.

There are exhibitions, teams, leagues, singles competitions, team competitions, national and international competitions; everything that you would expect an official sport to have. It has observer status at the Global Association of International Sports Federation and been recognized as a sport by half the countries needed to become an official Olympic sport. I'm pretty sure there is no international association of stair stepers and that is supported in Strava so why not jump rope?

100% agree … I’ve been involved in sports most of my 61 years and JR is by far one of the most intense workouts out there … Come on Strava join the jump party … we have a great community! Thanks 😊

It would be sweet if we could get junk roping added to Strava. Double recording is annoying.

It’s almost a year ago since the first request to add jump rope as activity to Strava. When will it be added?

I 100% support this request. I jump rope everyday and consider it a sport and so should Strava 😇

I know! It is shocking to me that they have not added it yet. And they have out so many ridiculous sports that make no sense. And they ignore jumping rope

More than one year ago since the initial request was made, still Strava has not added yet!

In the meantime many watch/app providers have added Jump Rope modes to their programmes. I am using the Coros watch and it works great to record Jump Rope sessions.

So please, Strava, add this activity ASAP!

Hi,

As I wrote in another post a few years ago, I added materials to strava.com

I also don't understand why a lot of crazy activities are added and the jump rope isn't.

It's a few lines of source code.

Outside of Strava.com, I have programmed:

1. I lead jump rope for meters.
2. There is a table for recalculating METs according to the number of jumps per minute.
3. I will also calculate the calories according to the weight.

I agree - it is so ridiculous that after seeing that there are so many of us that have requested jump rope to be added they still have not done it

@Lola why- is there still no Jump rope added as an activity- who decides what is going to be added, and why - skateboarding - and Rock climbing -pickle ball -kiteboarding -  and other fun sports but ones that make no sense are added - and JUMP ROPE IS NOT!
