There have been a couple of instances where I pause my ride at a stop light and forget to resume, or where my ride is not recorded due to bad reception. This requires a manual entry for that particular ride. Using “routes” for manual entries would be a nice feature because you would just have to enter your duration. Elevation would automatically be added and the map would be displayed on that manually entered ride.

I have thought about this before but for different reasons. There are lots of old rides that I've done that were not recorded on Strava and I would love to be able to have those rides show up on my heatmap. The downside of this is that it would create an incredibly easy way for people to cheat on distance and climbing challenge leaderboards.

@ChrisBerry good point. Maybe Strava can make it so that manual entries don’t count toward challenges or leaderboards and have the activity indicate that it’s a manual entry. I simply want this feature so I can record the correct distance, time, and elevation gain.

@Aesca151

Thanks for the post. Wanted to follow up and let you know that we agree that manual entries should not count toward Strava Challenges and we already have this in place. Manual activities will not count toward challenge leaderboards. You can find this info in this help article
