What if Strava had it's own Stadium near HQ that had bonus features for training there?

What if there was a DJ at the Stadium either in the middle of the field or inside the football sports box every First Friday night blasting music from the stadium speakers from 6pm-10pm for party music? (Can even have silent DJ/track/sports music as long as everyone tunes in to the channel live).

What if there was a Workout of the Day at the Track (WODAT)?

Bonus - What if the Strava Stadium was available to everyone virtually from any track in the world... and the stadium physical and virtual leaderboard resets live every morning at 6am (eastern?)

If you build Strava Stadium, we will come. Track takeover. I just came back from the track

Are you going to pay the millions of dollars to build the stadium and then keep paying to maintain it and pay the DJ out of your own pocket so a small number of people local to the area can benefit from it?  And, no, attending virtually is not a way to make it available to all.

Just use Kezar Stadium for now until we can lease the other Olympic stadiums that have not been put to use.

Why not virtual? Zwift has virtual worlds that cyclists and runners use already. Strava can partner and create the Strava Arena.

The DJ can go live on YouTube. Then we can all jam to the same music during the workout

Yeah, I'm sure using that stadium or leasing another is cheap.  Again, unless you plan to pay for it yourself, it's a non-starter.  No way I would be chipping in for a few locals to have a stadium to run in.  And what time zone is the DJ going to work on?  This is a global community.  Strava can't figure out how to make their existing virtual features work worth a crap (just look at the running challenges and segment leaderboards for glaring examples).  The last thing they should be spending OUR money on is some foolhardy thing like this.

@anchskier I agree there are better ways to spend money. Money should be used on the tech not a physical stadium for limited access.

What do you think about this—partner with one of the tech companies like Apple/FB on Augmented Reality Track Mode? The bigger tech cos are already creating this possibility, but just needs to be applied into the fitness realm.

In connection with an augment experience, I think we can find DJs across different time zones who want to stream live.  They would get access to a live fitness audience tuning maybe via an official YouTube channel and get more followers.
