Hello there!

I am working on an integration from my favorite fitness and workout tracking app, named Strong. It is focusing on gym workout, something Strava does not seem to support as of right now at all.

I already built an MVP which is working and successfully imports all my Strong workouts into Strava, but only as a very basic text list with all my exercises and reps, nothing too fancy.

I would love to know if I could create a workout-specific activity, with informations like exercises, reps, weights and so, either via API or in-app directly?

Hi there!

It sounds like the information that you'd like to send in with your activities might not be supported by our API for activities at this time. If the fields you're after are not in our API documentation, they are not available. However, this sounds like a great opportunity for an activity description!

You could send via API (or create in-app) detailed descriptions on your activities with information about your workout 🙂

Hello! I'm interested in using your MVP! Could you provide a github link or how to reach out to you?

I’m about to embark on the same project. I talked to the Strong devs and they said they’re more focused on Apple Fitness integration right now.

Would you mind sharing how you’re accessing the Strong workouts to get the data? My thought was to turn the data into an image sort of how Concept does for rowing activities or Wahoo does for their workouts.

Did you get this to work? I thinking of shift to Hevy, which does support Strava integration, but would much prefer to stick with Strong.

Not the way I wanted to. Creating the activity via the Strava API isn't an issue, but you can't add pictures (I wanted to include a snapshot of the workout stats). The bigger issue is access to the Strong data without having to do a manual export from the app.

I talked to the Strong guys and they said Strava integration is on their radar, but they don't have an ETA.

@JoshTampa thanks for looking into it! I'm a bit surprised this wouldn't be higher priority - Strava has a massive user base, and integrations tend to drive interest and new users, as people would start seeing Strong posts on Strava.
