There seems to be a long running history for this request!  As a club leader I have to own all of the routes that we use for club rides. These routes are repeated year-in-year-out and are part of club culture. As our leadership evolves, anchoring these to people will become problemtic because those routes will dissapear. I would like to be able to anchor routes to the club so that they persist with our members & remain available to folks as club members evolve.  

We already have the 3D layer in maps/route creator, but it’s not that useful in areas that have relatively minor elevation differences. It doesn’t give a realistic view of how hilly an area is. For example, parts of South London are relativey hilly, but not on a mountainous scale; a 100m elevaton gain looks minor on the 3D layer, but in reality a 100m hill would be quite a challenge in real life. Therefore I propose a topographic layer option, perhaps similar to what is used here: topographic-map.com Indeed, I often have this website open in another tab when planning a route, because the options on Strava aren’t as good.

Good day everyone. Was curious about the “180 Minute Sweat Challenge”, if there is a reason why Tennis is not included as one of the accepted sports ?  Not sure this is the correct place to ask 😅.Thanks. 

I would like to start a club with long distance challenges with no time limit. For example a Virtual Walk from London to Paris (344km). So when you have walked 344km you have completed the challenge.Is there anyway to do this?

 Hello, I have been using Strava on my Apple watch series 9 without any issue for about 6 months. Last saturday when I sent for run, I noticed that Strava app on my apple watch not recoding heart rate, I tried everything i.e. resetting watch/iphone. Deleteing strava app from watch/iphone and reinstalling. But nothing seems to help. I tried Workout app on my watch and it recorded hear rate. I checked all permission in Health app on Iphone and it has Allow Strava to Read heart rate ON. I checked the strava app on iphone and it has health app added, Everything worked fine before Saturday Not sure what suddenly happened? Can this be resolved as my running depends on it massivly. I tried Apple’s Workout app but I didnt like the app.Let me know if anyone needs any sort of logs to troubleshoot, will be happy to help

If I start a mountain bike ride on my Apple Watch Ultra is there a way for my iPhone to show my activity in real time?

I’m quietly going insane with the app. I’m really not interested in anyone’s 2 km stroll to the store or their umpteenth 45 minutes sweat fest on Zwift at a completely unrealistic speed.Allow me to just see the activities that I care to see and give kudos to.It can’t be that difficult to make a filter, after all there are simple extensions for both Chrome and Firefox that does exactly that. This has been asked a gazillion times by other athletes.

I can't figure out why only some of my bike rides show up in strava, while strength training and walking seem to always show up.  All being recorded on Apple Watch and Fitness

Nordic Skiing consists of multiple different disciplines just like Running and Cycling do.  As a minimum we should be able to choose Classic or Freestyle (skate) since there is a 10% to 20% difference is possible speed, different skis, different boots, different poles, different techniques and different wax/ski preparation.  To go a step further like has been done in Running and Cycling it could also include Ski Touring and Back County Skiing which are also quite different than Classic and Freestyle which are what we are seeing in the Winter Olympics this week.

Could you please advise whether it is possible to export time, pace, and athlete (user) name for a specific segment using the Strava API?

J'ai accepté et ajouté ma carte de crédit pour bénéficier de cet essai gratuit. We need a Ruck Activity… including the weight carried. Believe it or not, it’s popular. There’s a few guys doing it in my area. It’d be pretty easy for Strava to set up and add one extra feature: weight of ruck and perhaps weight of the person too. If you can do Kite Surfing [which is awesome by the way], Rucking would be a walk in the park!

Last month I signed up for the free Strava trial, and today I tried to cancel it. In the app, when I clicked on the subscription, there was no "cancel" option, only a message asking me to access the website. I did that, checked their support page for how to cancel there, followed the instructions, and there simply wasn't an option to cancel online either. I checked Reddit and their support page, which said it should be in the Google Play subscriptions section, but I went there and it's not there. I really don't know what to do because the annual plan is about to renew automatically (and I haven't even used the premium features and I won't). Does anyone know how to help me, please?

If this isn't the right place to post this question, then please tell me where I should (I'm aware the API is only for finished activities).I want to create an Android app that analyses real-time distance and time data. I hope to use the Strava Android app as my real-time data source because (1) it’s my primary app for recording activities; (2) avoids reinventing a distance algorithm; and (3) no two apps will perfectly agree on distance. However, I cannot find any Strava app supported way to do this and I'm wondering whether anyone has any ideas?So far, I’ve explored the following:The Strava app supports Android Intents, but it appears limited to another app starting/stopping recording. An Android NotificationListenerService can read the Strava app recording notification, however I need distance with at least two decimal places, like everywhere else in the Strava app, whereas in the notification Strava have made distance only one decimal place.

I’d really like to be able to display the surface type for a segment, or to be able to filter by surface type when retrieving segments in an activity etc.  I can’t find anything in the documentation that exposes this as a property in segment data, but the Strava UI does allow you to specify surface type when creating routes etc so I would have thought it was available. ANy ideas/help appreciated

A few days ago I requested an increase in the number of athletes for my application.I submitted the form requesting the first increase in users to allow more authenticated users. It went from 1 to 999.Last week I submitted another form requesting an increase to more than 999, and the quantity was not changed. I requested an increase from 999 to 20,000.I would like to understand why the increase has not been updated, since the form was approved and I followed all the steps for submitting the information.

Hi there.Since this morning I have been getting Error 500 from my calls to get the club activities. It has been running smoothly for the past 22 days but suddenly today I am facing issues without any changes to programming, code or how it is used. I have checked all the access codes etc and they are all correct.This is the most important few days for the project which finishes on Christmas day, so I really need to find a fix for whatever has happened

Hello, I recently started sharing my application, and it has begun getting some active users. Unfortunately, due to a mistake in my implementation, a background process that fetches activity images at midnight made far more requests than expected, unintentionally exhausting my API rate limit.I’m not entirely sure how, but within 15 minutes my app made over 10,000 Strava API read requests, even though my limit is 300 requests per 15 minutes and 3,000 daily. As a result, new users trying to log in are currently unable to sync their activities.Is there any way to temporarily restore or adjust the rate limit so that these users can sync today while I implement a fix to prevent this from happening again?

Hi all.We have developed an app which is already available on Apple Appstore. Main feature is to generate run invites. Those can be shared with your running crew via your favorite social platform or send push notifications to certain crew members directly. It imports activities and routes from Strava via initial import and web hook subscription. We are looking for a group of users to put some pressure on the technical concept, so we can iron out potential flaws.
