Flagging e-bike activities

Forum|alt.badge.img+1

Is flagging turned off on e-bike activities? I am trying to clean up e-bike leaderboards (90+ mph top speeds, utilizing freeways) of really obvious stuff. Many GPX’s flagged multiple times but no results.

Hi @Cat.1 e-biker, you should be able to flag any suspicious activity (with appropriate reasoning) but there's a limit on how many flags we can submit within 24 hours. Here's some discussions on that topic if you want to join:

So...I’ve chosen ten different GPX’s, two by age same individual,  all have maximum speeds in excess of 60 mph, a few in excess of 80 mph. All ten of these tracks follow major freeways at some point or for most of the GPX, Each of these tracks also go through completely uphill segments with average speeds in excess of 45 mph and top speeds of over 50 mph.

I have been flagging the same ten GPX’s for the past few days and nothing has happened,

You might need to attach screenshots of what you're actually doing. If you’ve exceeded the limit, you'll see an error message after submitting the flag. Anyway - make a before & after screenshot and post here.

I am aware of the limit of ten flags per 24 hour period. My flags get the noticed that the flag was created.

Are the flags reviewed by Strava before action is taken?

Action is taken immediately, unless there already was a flag on the specific activity, the flagged athlete raised a claim against it, and Strava removed the flag after reviewing it. If such an activity gets flagged again, I believe it waits for a review.

@Jana_S ...you many have your sequence slightly off.  In my experience, if the activity is flagged after the initial "clearing",  the rider/runner must open a trouble ticket to get the flag cleared.  That clearing action by the helpdesk will then be permanent for the activity... meaning: subsequent flags will be ignored by the system and not modify the leaderboard or alert the helpdesk .

If the thread starter’s flag efforts are being ignored, that may be what has happened.

Thanks for the extra details @JBW-Florida - I never got that far 😀 anyway - from what you say, it seems that the activities that the OP is trying to flag were already disputed and reviewed by Strava / approved as legitimate, is that a correct interpretation?

@Jana_S … perhaps.  We don’t know just where in this multi-step process he sits. Also, I don’t know what (if any) messages the system gives when re-flagging an already “approved by the helpdesk” activity.

They’ve asked me to become a “superuser”.  But I don’t want that unless I get access to the “test environment” where I can fully investigate these scenarios.
