This has already been brought up in an archived comment, but because it is archived I can't upvote or comment on. So bringing it up again, because it is annoying.

In exchange for the data I am collecting on your behalf, please let me use your app in peace. I am aware that the price is modest and I'm sure the perks are fantastic, but I am tired of being nickle and dimed by corporations like this.

This "data I am collecting on your behalf" you should elaborate more. How does Strava profit from your data in your opinion?

For the constant nagging I'm with you.

Is there a way to disable the message that pops up every time I click on one of my runs?

''There's so much more to Strava'' start a free trial.

It is getting rather annoying

Strava shares aggregated information with third parties for research, business, or other purposes. It may not be your explicit personal info, but all info gathered through their app is collected and sold.

it's good to remember, "if you're not paying for the product, you are the product"

Hello @jakeisodd

Thanks for your post.  I wanted to provide some clarification on this topic.  You can choose whether to contribute your public activities to de-identified, aggregate data sets.

I completely agreee it's abusive since Strava would be just be worth far less without data from free users, which you monetize.

If Strava offered more tiers (eg one just for creating/using routes) I would re-subscribe. But you're nagging us with too many paid features that we don't really use.

I couldn’t agree with you more. I used to be a paying subscriber but the rate hike went up way too much last year. Now it’s daily nagging to pay. Makes me want to use another app all together.

The mobile app popups have gotten to be too much. I’m someone who subscribed to strava for years because I wanted to see it succeed. I’ve since stopped, because they’ve reached critical mass and the value isn’t there for the price.

I just logged in to the app to set shoes for a run. I got three different popups asking me to subscribe. I’m not, but what I will do is stop using the service entirely. It’s not worth the frustration. Tone back the popups.

I wouldn’t be a free user if Strava didn’t rate limit on Kudos and now it has gotten worse. These pop-ups are at this point, the least of my concerns with the platform. This application is turning into hot garbage.

I used to subscribe too, but now find it too expensive (yes it may be good value etc, but right now I’m being careful with any outgoing expenses). The constant pop ups telling me to subscribe has become infuriating. I’m thinking I might just delete the app.
