I have recorded an activity (a hike) but it's not showing the matching segments or route that is already listed in Strava.

This was a hike around Unicoi Lake, which is part of the Unicoi Park in Helen, Georgia. This trail/loop is already showing in the Strava app as a route. But for some reason, in my activity it isn't showing the route or any of the segments. Also, when you look at the route history (of those that have completed this route) it doesn't show me as completing it. For example, I completed this route on June 19, 2024, but when you look at the activity for the route it shows the most recent activity on June 13, 2024.

This is the route showing in app

Do I need to do something to get the route & segments to register or am I missing something?

If you open the activity on desktop (not the app), at the bottom right of the segment list there's a link "Don't see the segment you're looking for?" which will show you segments near your activity and why you didn't match with them.

For the full loop around the lake, my guess is you didn't match that because of the extra loop off the path at the top left.

For the route matching, I am guessing it did not match because you did not start/stop in the same places as the official route.  Doing a segment or route from a different start/end point will generally not match up with the official one.  As ActivityFix noted, the detour in the top left may also contribute to that as well.  Did you log your hike as a "hike" or maybe as a "walk" or "run"?

I was curious if the start/stop location being different had something to do with it, but, in the past it would generally still match up with segments. I logged it as a hike. I appreciate your input.

I will check out that link. I didn't think that additional loop at the top left would have something to do with it, but probably did. Thank you for all of you help.
