Add route to manual workout?

Is it possible to create or upload a route and add that particular route to a manually created workout? For instance a device dies during recording or the gpx file is corrupted. It would be nice to be able to use a previous duplicate route, draw a route, or upload a gpx of the route and add it. So let's say I go to my routes; just let me pick one and say add route to workout.

Thanks.

Maybe you can download an old activity with the same route, and then modify the values on that duplicated activity to upload it. It's a mess, because you will have to modify also the laps. I'm not sure about what is the minimum information that you need to create an activity.

Though I have wanted this feature for a long time, the workout in question is a mountian I climbed only once. I live 1500 miles away form it now. There's another climb that is even farther away. I did create a manual workout but it bugs me that the map data isn't on it. With KOM competition and Local Legends I get why Strava would shy away from allowing the creation of duplicate workouts but the work around could be not letting manual workouts count toward those types of competitions.

I would also love to see this feature and have it available via the API! Strava activities are a lot more meaningful and interactive with maps, but there are lots of reasons why I might not have a gpx file from a tracker for an activity (no GPS watch, watch dies, bad tracking, etc.) I think a lot of people would benefit from this feature!
