Hi,

I’m in the process of closing my Google account.

This is how I currently login to Strava.

How can I change the email address associated with my Strava account and set a new password, so that I don’t have to login using Google

Thanks

Hey @lowfrequency,

If you previously logged into Strava using Google Login and you want to log in via email and password, you will need to create a password. The best way to do this is to use the password recovery process.

Go to https://www.strava.com/account/recover and enter the email address used in your Google account. You should receive a link to reset your password within minutes. The reset link is marked red and says "Reset Password."

Hi. I have a slightly different problem. I log in to the diet with an Apple ID. Which means that I have a fictitious email address assigned to the diet (hidden) and it forwards the communication to my private email. Is there any way to stop using the Apple ID? Without losing my account? I can't even change the password on the fictitious email addressHi. I have a slightly different problem. I log in to the diet with an Apple ID. Hi @ALENICKa, so what happens when you enter the fictional email address to the password recovery form? I suppose Strava sends a pwd recovery link to that address, which then should be forwarded to your actual email address; meaning you should be able to create a password. And once you have one, you should be able to change also your email address in your Strava profile, just as @Bryant suggested.

Hi, I tried this option. The password recovery link does indeed arrive, but unfortunately it is not working and I cannot change the password. Likewise, I cannot change a fictitious email address and set my own on the strava. I can create a new account under a new email address. Is it possible to transfer my existing account (I have all my activities here) to a newly created account?

Hey @ALENICKa,

If you still aren’t able to adjust your password & email address using the step @Jana_S mentioned above, I recommend submitting a support ticket so our team can further investigate.

To answer your question, yes we can help you transfer your activities from one account to another however I don’t believe that will be necessary for your situation.

I currently log into strava using my Google account. I am trying to set a password for my Strava login. I put my email address into the forgot password page as advised on other threads in support, and never have once received an email with info on how to set the password. - Thankfully I can still log in with my Google account, or a code is sent to my email when I use my email address.

@Sirhc It sounds like you might be using an email provider which is discarding the password reset emails which are sent to you. Alternatively, it may be the case that Strava has had trouble successfully delivering emails to you in the past and your email address is flagged as a bouncing address.

Since this trouble involves investigating your specific email address, we recommend reaching out to our team to explain the obstacle you’re facing and we’ll help you sort out the situation.
