I am experiencing the following issue.

Using a Galaxy watch 4. I finished an activity on the watch ( disabled battery saving mode on watch and phone before I finished the activity on the watch. Saw a short message "open on phone" but the acivity did not  appearin stava. Went to settings on the watch and "Not synched" displayed "0".

Rebooted the watch and my Galaxy S21 but nothing appeared in strava. Is there any hope to recover my activity?

Hey @IvoMenzo

Sorry for the troubles syncing your recent activity recording.
Can you please try resyncing the activity?

  • View the History folder on your watch
  • Use 'Tap to Sync' button to reattempt sync the missing activity
  • 'Sync Successful' message displayed at top of screen and 'Tap to Sync' no longer appears to confirm activity has synced to Strava account

If an activity fails to sync to your Strava account, please ensure you do not have any duplicate recordings. You will need to delete any activities that are already on your account for that date/time.

Hi @Bryant

I have the same problem as mentioned by @IvoMenzo.

My Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 tracks my activity without a problem and it syncs successfully - at least based on the “Unsynced 0” label in the application, but now I have two missing activities from the last 2 weeks.

I am not sure what do you mean by “View the History folder on your watch”. Could you please let me know how and where should I look on my watch?

It’s pretty frustrating to not be able to see any past activities on my watch but to lost it completely while it says it’s synced.. kind of ridiculous.

I don’t know for sure that you can help us with these questions, but could you please let us know what exactly can be done to restore these acitivities (by restoring it from the database or something by the Strava Team, or by us with a solution for this problem). Also, do you know when will this problem be solved for WatchOS or is it not considered a problem at the moment?

Hey @sasmadarr,

Apologies for the delay.
When researching I found the “History Folder” I was referring to is for a samsung device older than what you are using.
If you are still experiencing sync issues with your device please submit a support ticket and we’ll be happy to investigate further.

Download the Health Sync app on your phone, that’s how I solved my problem. It syncs your health and fitness data between popular apps and platforms. A friend of mine was having the same issue; he downloaded it, and it worked for him as well.

From my research, it seems that Strava does not detect activities on the Galaxy Watch that do not actively use GPS, such as strength training, for example.

I recently purchased a Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 and was frustrated when trying to record my strength training workouts on Strava. What impressed me the most was that I previously used an Amazfit GTS 2 Mini, which cost four times less and didn’t have this issue, everything worked perfectly.

I also encountered problems with GymRats. When I tried to check-in, the activity was identified as “Other” instead of “Weight Training” or “Strength Training,” unlike what happened with the Amazfit GTS 2 Mini. Additionally, during check-in on GymRats, the Amazfit included the number of steps and the distance covered during my strength training session, while the Galaxy Watch 7 did not.

Fortunately, after downloading and setting up Health Sync, I haven’t had any further issues. I hope this helps.
