New way of displaying segments

It seems Strava have been slowly sidelining the segments over the last few updates. The latest update has led to no specific segment link and no indication of Local Legend. Personally, this was the only feature that made Strava better than others. Without it, the app loses value for me. What do others think?

Is that a problem with the Android app? I can only speak for the website and the IOS app, everything about segments is there as usual and they even added segment achievement symbols in the activity map in IOS.

Interesting. Yes this refers to the Android app. Thanks for the reply.

This issue is why I’ve now come to the community hub.

I use Strava on my iPhone and noticed the Segment Map got replaced with a automated visual map (exactly like you could do years ago with Relive), but you could still access your own or other atheletes Segment map from the best effort section, thats now been removed too!

Segment view is the only real use I have for Strava and Strava Premium, seeing what segments I’ve been through and my times versus leaderboards, today or following.

Is this the same issue you’re having @elbenio?

This is exactly my issue and you echo my sentiment about it being the most useful additional feature on Strava. It's loss reduces the appeal of Strava considerably.

Now I see it too, the “View Segments” link in the activity details has been removed from the Strava IOS app, some days ago it was still there. I hope that’s just a bug and not some of the strange decisions they made in the last time.

Hello @ElBenio, @oikeith and @Jan_Mantau - the functionality to see your segment results should still be there in the app, it is called “View All Results”, right under the Results section.

Regards the ability to view the map detail page with all the segments listed (and toggle them on and off on the map), I have passed you feedback to our team internally. Let me know if you have any more questions!

Thank for the reply. The issue is that I want to see where I am the Local Legend without clicking through on each one. The old list on the map view is a key motivator for me.

There needs to be some communication as to the logic for deleting this capability in the app. Why bother? If this ends up happening to the PC version I will have zero reasons left to continue with strava at all. I have been a user for over a decade. This function accounted for about 75-85% of the time I spent on the mobile version of the app. I am sure they can see my metrics fir this and it has dropped off significantly since this change. I no longer check peoples rides since it is now pointless as this was the only data I found useful. I suspect the devs are pushing toward the social aspect of Strava but in my small circle of users (around 100 athletes) literally not one of them uses the social aspect of Strava. Its finding trails and achievements and getting hints for trail conditions. Big mistake to remove this feature.

I ended up submitting a “case” on the PC version of the app by scrolling all the way down to find the help section. I suggest everyone else do the same to possibly get some movement on this.
