Does anyone else find it annoying to see one random activity from a year ago in your feed?

This should be optional. Some people might get motivated by seeing what they did on this day last year, but I find it distracting when reviewing my activity log. Some of the are short commutes, which I definitely don’t need to reminisce about. If people want this, they could turn it on, but since it has been added to my activity feed it’s diminished my experience of the activity feed.

It's wild how often it comes up in random conversation that this "feature" is a trauma factory. Make optional please, kinda wild you wouldn't do so from the start, this one feels "social" above empathetic.

Agreed. We should be able to opt out

This year ago thing needs to be removed or at the very least, optional. It is so annoying and confusing when viewing daily workouts. Please fix it now.

I see this is a conversation that originated a while back and just wanted to put it out there that I also would like to be able to disable this feature. As someone who struggled with orthorexia a few years ago, I don't like seeing activities from that time again.

I find this feature quite triggering due to personal reasons and I prefer not to be reminded of events from 5 years ago. Please make it optional!

Well, it has been years since my first post on this item... Unfortunately, I NEVER got any reaction from the Strava team, only comments from people who agree. Apparently, according to Strava, this is not enough. Maybe paying members (like me) should not prolong their subscription, maybe that will be a statement that is noticed by the Strava team.

Said to say, but I am really feeling ignored by Strava on this.

Many athletes want to know how to turn off "activites from one year ago". Many people using strava are working out hard to recover from a personal trauma such as a breakup or the loss of a loved one with whom they worked out in the past. Having "pre-trauma" old activities show up, often with pictures providing vivid reminders of the source of the trauma ranges from unhelpful to just plain cruel. I have seen many requests for an option to turn this feature off, but no response from Strava.

Agree. Should be optional.

I completely agree that users should be able to either opt in or opt out of this feature.  Or have it show up elsewhere or in another way than alongside current workouts in the feed.  I almost deleted it because I thought it was a duplicate of another workout.  I hope someone from Strava dev reads these comments and makes this fix.

What’s the status of this request? It’s soooo annoying and does not make sense to see an activity from exactly a year ago. One (like myself) may want to quickly scroll through & edit your activities from today and then these old ones keep popping up to disturb this. I mean it’d make a sense to show an activity, e.g the same race from a year ago for comparison. But just a random activity suddenly to pop up…. Come on - please finally make it at least optional!

Another vote to make this optional. I'm starting to get activities from "3 years ago" dropped in my feed. Not needed or wanted.

I agree with the bulk of these comments in that this behaviour should be optional. It’s fine if the default is for these historic activities to show up in the feed as long as we have the ability to disable this behaviour.

I would also really like to turn this off. I kind of can't stand this feature I get so confused when it pushes old activities at me.

After my previous comment, I've decided to not renew Strava as I don't need to be reminded of runs with friends that have subsequently passed away. To be honest, Garmin Connect is now good enough for my use.

Absolutely agree.
