Kettlebell training is a game-changer for strength and cardio. Adding it as an activity would make our fitness tracking way more comprehensive and inspire more of us to swing into action. Let's get Strava to lift our kettlebell sessions onto the platform 😊

You should just log it as weight training since youre training with weights (kettlebell) no need for another sport type as that would just clutter the already cluttered sports list

Hi @41092

Thanks for posting your suggestion.  We do already have "weight training" as an activity type on Strava which is inclusive of dumbbell, barbell, kettlebell and body weight training.  When you edit the activity on Strava, you also have the option to add a description as well as any private notes, which gives you the ability to add more details about the workout - equipment, sets, reps etc.

I agree with the suggestion. While kettlebells are a form of weight training the structure and execution is VERY different to normal weight training.

I would love to pick the kettlebell option as a sub-activity type of weightlifting.

Each set/rep can show the different exercise for weightlifting. Garmin does this and allows you to choose the specific exercise for each set.

There are also kettlebell complexes which do not fall into the set/rep structure

I agree. It's the same as the difference between trail running and road running, and we can select the different options with those currently. Because of that existing option, I'd think that having a kettlebell training option would fall along the same lines as Strava's current company values. I currently use the weight option and fill in the description but it would be nice to have a kettlebell specific activity (not to mention how cute the icon would be 😍)

Exactly @Leihgendary ! @Jane to say it already exists under the activity type of  “weight training” is like putting mountain biking and E-mountain biking as the same activity type. Yes, they both use a bike but they are so different that they are considered distinct activities. Kettlebell specific training is so different and distinct from conventional weight training they cannot be considered to fall under the same activity type.

@Clarevr yes! If Crossfit is an option, which incorporates many movements, then so should Kettlebell training be added in as that training style is not the same as a general workout.

Running / trail running

Biking / e- biking

Workout / Kettlebell workout

Has a good ring to it @Jane

Did a ladder 20 sets of kettlebell swings from 1 rep, 2 reps, 3 reps, 20 reps today. Great workout.

I wish I could track this in Strava

This would be so great! Indeed very different from anything I’ve done before in its own category.

anyone good way to track data without a watch? (Because snatches, shoulder presses etc, can accidentally damage the watch?) Is there a cheststrap that could do that e.g.?
